I agree with a lot of your posts but not this one
This is LB romo but a lot of it is on Garrett
You don't bench your franchise QB and shatter his confidence , you talk to him privately and limit his options in those situations
Problem is, romo likely sees what fans see, an incompetent HC in place because if the owner, lack of accountability and discipline so he may sag what we hear publicly but he likely has little respect for what Garrett has to say
Give romo a real HC and watch him go into the playoffs
Benching romo would about be the worst thing this team could do

JG is your typical politician type. He wants to please everyone. Sometime you need to be a hard you know what and have a tough talk with your star players when they are not playing well or their "bad" warts are starting to show during the game.

Romo sucked today no doubt but this is when a real HC would earn his money by managing that player though the game.

That's what Holmgren used to do with Favre.

If he wanted to manage he should have sat Murray for the first half after putting the ball on the carpet the first time he touched it.

My first reaction was I wanted Romo benched. After a while, I wanted him to stay in because this game essentially turned into Romo's first "real" preseason action and he needed to stay in and get in sync with his receivers and learn how to read a defense again. This is what happens when you baby players and let them sit out. Losing and injuries are in their DNA. Any little nick means you sit out weeks and weeks of practice and players know this now. I'm not saying back injuries are a nick but at the same time, if you're on the team, you need to practice.

I am not for benching Romo for Weeden after one game but if Romo was ever told by JG not do to something and it's a recurring theme, Romo should be benched. No player should be above the team even if it means having a lesser player start.

You are making the assumption Garrett is telling him not to audible. Given Red's history, I don't think he had a problem with Romo going to a pass in that situation.

Tap the breaks on this "fire Garrett" talk. It's only week 1 so it's way too early for this kind of over reaction. I'm all for doing whatever makes this team better. Firing Garrett won't fix anything at this point. I've never been an advocate of firing coaches during the season. The product coach Garrett put on the field was not acceptable and I expect this to get corrected.

Like he's corrected it all the years he's been here?

The pattern speaks otherwise, so why trust him to do any differently than what Garrett has done before?

Corrected? He's had going on 5 freaking years to correct it, and yet it's the exact same thing year after year. As the old saying goes, the definition of insantity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result.
