I think today was mostly about poor execution from the QB. We had guys wide open for easy TDs and Romo foolishly forced it into coverage several times resulting in turnovers and missed opportunities.

I didn't agree with the play calling at the goal line but Garrett didn't make Romo float a pass up for grabs in the end zone.

After the shower of boo birds going into halftime, no way can Garrett survive a losing season.

No way in hell can Jerry give this man an extension coming off a 5 or 6 win season, which looks very probable at this point...................................dude is done in Big D.

I am serious...I don't think a great NFL guy will work with Jerry.

The A&M coach..does anyone think he'd be good in the NFL?

Yea I honestly don't see us playing this poorly again. Romo almost certainly won't. I still think we're a .500 ball club by the end of the season, or close to it.

The problem is, I'd rather just suck this season and draft a franchise QB with a top pick and build through the draft than be another middle-of-the-road team yet again. Nothing changes that way.

this is a poorly coached and prepared team. there is no discipline and the defense has on talent none.

I am always game to contribute to a fire Garrett thread. He has no business at all being a head coach in the NFL but I guess Jerry being comfortable is more important than having a real HC on the sidelines. Now that Romo is looking like his back issues and age are catching up with him, it will be interesting to see how "comfortable" Jerry is keeping Garrett if we lose 13 or more games.

Same here. One good thing that came out of Jerry's lust for Romo is that it let us know that despite Romo's big contract extension, Jerry's not opposed to bringing in another QB.

If we finish 5-11 or worse and Romo is up and down all year I can see us targeting a QB early in next year's draft.

Today was NOT on Garrett aside from him not choosing to bench Romo. Romo didn't allow him to make meaningful game strategy decisions since he got us in such a big hole.

Let's pass on eviscerating Garrett for this week and focus on the one player that cost us 18+ points.

Isnt it JG's job to get Romo ready for the start of the season?

My guess is that in practice without a rush Romo looked good. Romo also is telling Garret he's 100% and that's all Garrett has to go on since the docs say he's medically cleared. I think Romos problem is mental and can't thread it in there which he hasn't had to do in practice

Both Romo and Garrett need to go. And Jerry & family need to step back and let the football experts call the shots. Of course none of that is happening anytime soon so I won't worry about it. I loved that they got booed at the end of the half. Nobody booed at the end of the game since there were nothing but 49ers fans by then. Atrocious performance to follow an atrocious off season. Can't say I'm surprised by the result though. We knew we were this bad since May.

A friend of mine asked me about how I feel about the team before the game. I told him I thought we would be lucky to go 6-10 this year.

But, I also told him that I look at it as a no lose situation. If they play well and prove me wrong...great. But if not, then that means the end of Jason Garrett as a head coach.

One team has a real head coach on their sideline. A guy that despite numerous off the field issues beyond his control with his team....had them prepared to whip butt on the road.

The other team had a politician on their sideline who just politicks his way to keeping his job.

I honestly think the players have already given up on Garrett. I got that feeling on the onside kick where instead of having Bailey kick it as hard as he can in the ground and get a good hop, he is asked to get cute with the onside kick and it failed. Too much unsound fundamental situational football and the players end up catching all of the flak over it.

Didn't like Garrett as OC and hate him as HC, but I have said this here many times before. Romo still hasn't learned to throw the ball away in the redzone and is simply not seeing the field, and relies on his receivers to bail him out more often these days. These two certainly compliment each other and I hope they both leave together as well.
