*** Official Jason Garrett Thread ***

The team played hard but came up short. We are young on the offensive line and it showed in todays game. We can not blame this game on Garrett. Folks, we are not a Super Bowl contender!

Garrett to me is one of the main reasons we lost the last two games. He's a horrible playcaller.

Absolutely incorrect. It was pathetic and it is what lost the game for the Cowboys.

JG didn't trust Romo in that 3 and out drive. That's all it came down to it.

What a joke.

you may be right but you play to win the game especially with Brady as the opposing QB.

The end is coming closer and closer for Garrett. If we continue to look inept against the Rams, Philly could be a "Win or you're a dead man walking" game for Garrett.

There is no way in hell he's going anywhere. For better or worse, he's here for a minimum of the rest of this year and next year. That's at a minimum.

How is Dez not targeted in the Redzone? I just don't get that. This is so ******** frustrating. So sick of these close games and blown opportunities.

I like JG as a Head coach, but his playcalling leaves A LOT to be desired. BRING IN AN OC!

Exactly...

Jason Garrett is the master of the close loss.

Look at my post history. It's been my main gripe of his for years, although I used to hate all of his play calling.

He was pathetic in the red zone today. Dez Bryant one on one on three red zone trips inside the 10 and no jump balls. Inexcusable.

And the last 3 and out drive? After they sold out for the run on 1st down I would have thrown a screen or went play action. Really bad. Nobody should be blamed for this loss this week than Garrett.

Agreed .. very bad play calling in the red zone!

#reality

*** was that play-calling on our last redzone attempt? A shovel pass? ***!

Then we're trying to run out the clock against the Patriots? Hadn't we already gotten more than we expected from our defense? Throw the ball! You cant play that conservative against the Patriots!

Love Garrett the head coach, HATE GARRETT THE OC AND PLAY-CALLER!

We played a good game on the road against a very good and tough team. We didn't execute a couple of times in the redzone and came away with field goals instead of TD'S. Other than that, we did fine. I don't have any blame for anyone, I am proud of how we played. :star:

This loss is on Garrett with his BS play calling on the last drive when you know your team cant run, why are you running into a Pats run blitz....spread them out and throw it...instead gave the game away..
So, if we pass like the other 2 losses with a lead and Romo does the same crap with a pick, then what? Garret did what he was supposed to do. Our line sucks *** with there shoddy run blocking and the penalties are a joke!

I remember a lot of fans hollering for us to run the ball with a lead, I sort of agree. As long as the lead is as big as we had against the Lions. But when it's a close game, YOU HAVE TO CONTINUE TO BE aggressive, just like the Patriots were. They did not settle for a FG, they think like champions.

Dude thats 3 games this year that they had a chance to win, they had this game but holly hell, they cant finish anything at all. I hope JJ punches someone right in the face!

You play the game based on what you have witnessed all day.

In this case, the Dallas defense was shutting the New England offense down.

I don't care if you have the Pro Bowl team out there, when the defense is getting the job done and the offense isn't you go with what brought you that far.

Killing the clock and relying on one more stop was the right call. Now, I don't care for the formations they used because they were pretty much big flashing billboards that Dallas was going to run.

With a weak OL, you cannot allow the defense to stack the box. The OL was having trouble blocking 3 and 4 guys but we ask them and a couple of TEs to block 7-8?

Running was the correct call. Telling the Patriots you were going to run was not.

Yea running 3 plays in a row only to punt to Tom Brady with 3 minutes left is a great plan.

Three minutes to go, New England has all three timeouts and the two-minute warning, and we go into kill-the-clock mode. Absolutely idiotic decision by Garrett that lost us the game. It didn't lower New England's odds of winning one iota, and we'd have been effectively no worse off had we thrown three incompletions there. Garrett should be fired for this debacle.

We can't run the ball - we need a better OL. It has nothing to do with the OC or even the OL coach. The guys upfront are just not good enough.

Garrett went conservative to protect Romo from criticism IMO. He decided he would not let Romo lose this game. In the end, you can't really criticize him for running it because that is what the coaches book says to do. He just doesn't the players to do it. If he throws and Romo throws a pick, everyone is going to be out with pitchforks for Romo again and he decided he couldn't let that happen.

The sad fact is that we are an okay team but not a great team and you have to be a great team to beat NE at home.

I see this team continuing to grow throughout the year and I can see us playing with anyone by the end of the year. Hopefully we sneak into the playoffs and then do some damage.

What a joke.

You might win with Romo or you might lose, but running the ball three straight times in that situation is just a straight give up.

but that's the way I see it. When the HELL has romo ever been able to throw a fade or wheel route or anything with touch, up in the AIR, where a DB can't get it in the end zone? That's right NEVER. Couldn't do it with TO, or with Roy Williams or now with DEZ. Guys: he can NOT make those throws. That's and honest to god fact. He also can't be trusted not to throw brutal INT's at the end of the game which is why you saw Garrett try to nurse home the win and NE snuffed it out and Brady tore out our hearts like he has every other team in the NFL.

You have to MAKE A PLAY at the end of games like this to ice it, and Tony can't be trusted to do that. We all discussed it verbatim after the Jet and Lion losses. NOw, the pendulum swings back and it's on Red? Nah, our red zone offense hs sucked for years. To me it's poor oline play and turnover tony's fault. Norv was a genius here becuase he had an AWESOME Line THAT kicked arse and took names. Now? not so much.:bang2:

........Posted this very soon after yours Eskimo....we are in total agreement. All the Red haters are so clueless I feel sorry for them. No horses up front, and a QB that makes bad decisions in crunch time still is a 7-9 team which is what I said at the beginning of the year.

Garrett's game management when we are winning is horrible. I think he does many things well, but his biggest weakness is play calling in the 4th quarter when we are leading.

His logic is crazy:

Up 20+ points = PASS A LOT

Up by 3 with tons of time = RUN THE CLOCK OUT and give the ball back to Brady

Seriously? You do not give the ball back to Brady. You have to play like we are losing the game. They have a terrible pass defense, keep attacking!

How is Dez not target in the entire 2nd half?
