*** Official non-Cowboys NFL Team Cuts *** updated ***

Matt Elam is expected to be cut by the Ravens. I remember a lot of hype for him back in the 2013 draft.

Edit: Never mind, he's expected to undergo knee surgery to keep him out a few weeks.

Nick Hayden is now available. I'm sure Rod was in Jerry's office first thing this am. Hayden is a definite upgrade...for the used car lot down the street from me.
Kind of telling that the Browns dumped him where it took three years and a simple lack of contract to get him out of Dallas.

I don't really know anything about Jefferson except that he's been with three teams since 2013 and recorded only two tackles in six games - all in 2013. Makes me skeptical he could beat out Russell or any of the DEs who could make the Cowboys 53.

I am confused on waivers....I thought vested veterans with 4 years of service didn't go through waivers, so should Kruger be immediately available as a free agent? Same with Coples. Davis, Aaron Murray and Bryce Petty I think would all go through waivers if released. I would take any as a backup to Dak.

That's the way I understand it. Kruger doesn't have to go through waivers, at least to the best of my knowledge.

Kruger is a free agent. I think Austin Davis only has 2 years of actual service even though he's been a pro for longer so he would be in the 24 hour waiver process.

Yes, 4 years of NFL service and they don't have to go through waivers (Once the trade deadline passes, vested veterans do have to pass through waivers).

They have to be on the roster or IR for a certain amount of games to be considered a year of service. The practice squad does not count. I think it is 6 games minimum. I don't know if Austin Davis was on the active roster or practice squad in his 1st season or two.

We were able to get his best years as a pro. Cleveland was left with a washed up player...lol

Have liked Davis since he lit us up 2 years ago, might as well get him.

Brandon Browner cut. I'll take him over some the garbage we have in the secondary
