Well said. My apathy for non-Cowboys games started after the Steelers-Seahawks Super Bowl. The game made it crystal clear to me.
Yep and the infamous 9-11-2011 game SNF against the Jets, no penalties on them....That was by design, the "feel good" narrative was that NYC needed a win that night, refs more than willing to abide....

I'm playing Devils advocate here. I'll start off by saying I think th officiating league wide is horrendous and not only are the officials a problem but some of the rules in general. I too have given up watching most NFL games because I'm sick of watching 3 hours of good football just to wacth it be decided by the officials.

Having said all of that, I don't think we are puprposely getting screwed and I'm sick of listening to all of the excuses, complaints and whiners. Bad calls and/or non calls happen every game and it's not just against us. A lot of us bring up the Dez non catch against GB in the playoffs but for those conspiracy theorists that think the NFL is out get us what about the game prior to GB when the Detroit receiver was pretty much getting tackled? The officials even threw a flag and then picked it up. That PI call would have put Detroit in FG range and they probably would have won the game. That same play Dez came running out on the field with his helmet off and started arguing with officials. Again, no flag. What about the clear offensive pass interference against Dez a few games ago or the hands to the face of Bradford when he was going for the two point conversion and the tie? What about Adams having is jersey tugged off his shoulder pad with the official looking right at him (that resulted in GB punting from inside their own 10 and us getting points).

The point is, officiating is a huge problem and it's definitely a turn off. Something need to be done and it starts with that loser Goodell but to blame our loss on the officiating or act like we're the only ones getting bad calls is ridiculous. We lost, end of story.
You seem lost.

You probably still think we're a Tampa 2 defense.

If you want to be mocked for being a crybaby fan by most people who see it, go for it. Every fan base has people who are positive the refs are out to cheat them. Fans of the other 31 teams don't take them seriously, either.

the only recourse against someone with that authority is personal.
otherwise it is a waste of breathe.
simple situation.

Haha...or real and you can't handle it. Listen, I'm as po'd about the officiating as everyone else butmI'm not going to act like we're the only ones getting screwed.

Feel free to elaborate on how lost I am.

I knew this would rustle some Jimmies. Nothing but one liners that don't refute what I said. Stay in denial and continue to use bad officaiting as an excuse for why we haven't done jack in the past twenty years.

When did i say that princess?

There's plenty of evidence, you just have no idea what you're watching. Pretty simple.

Well you're here. You spent the whole season elsewhere. I'm just trying to help you out so you can make your way back to whatever team's forums you go to when Dallas is winning.

I was thinking a Cowboys Nation boycott until next season. Their ratings would plummet. *** em.
This! Our games saved the NFL ratings this year. Stick it to them where it hurts. There are already tons of fans tuning out cuz officiating has made the product suffer. Our fan base checks out, good night.

Why is this acceptable? The NFL is worth billions and billions of dollars yet they can't hire competent refs to call it down the middle? I say when I smell something fishy and I smell something fishy. Not a conspiracy against my team only, but something is very wrong with the referees in the NFL. But why do people like you shrug it off like oh well?
Because I don't think jumping up and down and bellowing on a fan forum is going to do any good.

If I thought it would help, perhaps I would change my tune.

My point is that every fanbase think their team is hard done by by the refs. Everybody thinks the refs are out to get them. Have you ever been on a Commanders game thread when they are playing. It's hilarious. According to them, there is a massive conspiracy by the refs and the NFL to make sure they never win another Super Bowl. They rail on the refs like they are the devil incarnate. Especially against the Cowboys. We get all the calls. Jerry has paid them all off.

I don't want to be like them.

I get it. Everybody is upset about the loss and they are venting. I am too.

But I would wager that if a statistical analysis were done, we would get no more or no less bad calls called against us than anybody else.

Really? Have you seen the comparisons of the roughing the passer calls for Tony Romo in comparison to the rest of the league for his career? It's sickening.

Simple question - how many here would participate in a Twitter activity to mess with the ref.

I'm not sure how many of you realize it but in a situation like this, it is us against the entire league. Any other team would get help from other fans, but Cowboy fans doing this would just result in all other fans piling on. The only way to have any effect would be to start a league wide protest of some sort and spearhead it anonymously.

It's not so much the bad calls, those will happen, but that the game has become almost unwatchable due to over officiating. That Unsportsmanlike on Butler is a prime example, a ref just looking for something to call. Punt returns might as well be removed from the game because almost every single one gets called back on a penalty. I no longer celebrate big plays, first thing I start doing is looking for flags and it has taken a lot of the enjoyment from the game.

unfortunately it is impossible to convince many millions of fans to do that.
convincing 200 cowboys fans on the website to click twitter 500 times is within the realm of possibility.
i am no twitter expert so i presume it would work.

We didn't get penalized this much when Jimmy Johnson was in charge.
.

No one got penalized as much then. I've been watching since the Ice Bowl days and it's only got this bad recently. It's a combination of things, rules designed to help the offenses, more passing that in the old days, much more, plus reviews have made the refs flag happy being scared they will miss something.

Show me one post here that said the officiating was the ONLY reason for the loss. All the posts I've read have pretty much admitted the teams faults too.....

I jumped on the bandwagon during the Ice Bowl season. It's been fun and heartbreaking. This season was both.

Agreed. Between the endless commercials and terrible over officiating something has been lost in football. Most of the non Cowboy games l watched this year were dreadful entertainment.

The NFL does not like Jerry.
The boys will continue to get this crappy treatment.
Bingo! Not sharing in the profits doesn't incentive the league owners for DAL to proceed. But would think the ratings would make them change their tunes? Old rich man can be a stubborn bunch, but would think the old saying "follow the $" is golden almost universally. We do feel like the used up "attraction" at times bringing the league weeks of high ratings despite who we play but in the playoffs; 2 penalties called against the opponent? Not ready for conspiracy stuff, but it's dang hard not to; just as easily can be biased fandom, etc. We were hosed yesterday, no denying that.
