Official Quarterback Lover-Hater thread

Romo looks alot more comfortable out there compared to Henson.

you may have posted too soon...Romo threw some nice passes to Crayton, which is more than Henson can say, but he also showed some of his true colors...he's not NFL starter material in my opinion...I'd trade him and Henson for a guy like Seneca Wallace...we need to draft a QB who's been in a passing offense for 4 years of college...doesn't have to be round 1, but I just don't believe you're going to find a gem in the FA market or rebounding from baseball.

Wallace isn't even 6'...not even 200 lbs...yet he's a QB, a real one...he'd have put it on us soundly if he had anyone who could catch the ball.

Good word - Moxie -

However -Romo didn't exactly light it up either...and that bloop over the middle in Arenaball stuff...

I like Romo at this point over Henson. I almost like Romo better than Drew Bledsoe. Unfortunately, The second string QB of the Sea hawks (Wallace) seems to be better than any QB we have on our current squad.

That's truly a sad state of affairs.

Wallace first of all seems to have a good strong arm. He has mobility to say the least. He has very good pocket awareness and can buy time with his feet. He didn't seem to get shaky when we brought the heat on him. He seemed pretty stoic no matter what was going on around him. The closest we have to him right now is Romo in regards to remaining cool under fire.

Henson just needs tech work. He has the physical skills, he has the pocket awareness, and, from the outside at least, has leadership skills. I don't see a confused look on his face a la Hutch and Quincy.

F that. He needs to be cut tomorrow. He threw a pick. Get him out of here.

I think if there was anyone better out there then Henson would have a really tough time making this team. I would have much rather seen Tim Couch under center than Drew Henson. At this point there is no way he makes this team other than as the 3rd QB.

Ok!

Here is my 2 cents on the QB play. I did not see the AZ game, so I have to take everyone's word on how the QB's looked.

Bledsoe - I thought he played OK, not great, but good enough to make me feel a little better about the situation. He didn't hold the ball to the point of being stupid and he made several nice throws. Maybe we will be OK with him this year. Grade - B

Henson - He made a couple of horrible throws to begin with. The int that he threw on his 2nd(?) pass was the right decesion, but a terrible throw. In the second half, he played a lot better than his numbers will show. He made several clutch throws only to have the passes dropped. I thought that he showed poise under a heavy rush at times and completed one pass across his body with a defender in his face. Not many QB's can make that throw, including Romo. Grade - C+

Romo - He made one very good throw to start his series, and one bonehead impulse throw that should have been picked off. Other than that, I thought that he played decent to Ok without much help from the offensive line. Grade - C

Overall, I thought that Bledsoe played well enough to alleviate some of my anxiety about him. Henson showed better arm strengh than Romo but is still far from being ready for prime time. But the tools are evident, I hope that he continues to develop. Romo didn't do anything to harm his chances of being #2 QB this season, and he does have a confidence about him that I like. But he will never have great physical tools. He sort of reminds me of a better version of Clint Stoener. I think that he could be a solid QB at some point.

There you go.........Slam away.

Seneca Wallace was 8/20 for 69 yards.

Yea but how many drops by wr in there hands with no defender near by a lot.

Holgrem has not produce one wr in Seattle that does not show stretchs of the dropsies not one. Come on they have a bunch of Quincy Morgan hands of stone wr :p:

They dropped some, but he also missed a lot of open WR's. Kalen Thornton also dropped a INT gift wrapped right into his bread basket.

Dallas was just playing Cover 2 the entire 2nd half just letting Seattle have the post and the seams.

That's no joke....the Seahawks must have fish oil on their hands....it would have been alot closer if they were catching the balls that were thrown to them....even half of them....it was pretty pitiful.

tricky 22, I saw what you saw. The only thing Romo has over Henson is experience. I get the feeling watching Henson that he just needs to play, If he ever got a chance to play a few whole games I think he would work him self into a rythm and grow stronger by the game. It's kinda hard to get a groove going by only playing a couple of series here and there. I was really impressed with his clutch throws on third downs, even if they were dropped. Many young guys with rocket arms need a few series to settle down, remember how Farve used to come out overthrowing people left and right?

he doesnt suck any worse than our starting QB

The starter had a touchdown and no int's as I recall. And he was playing against the first stringers.
