Düsseldorf (10.04.2006) - Es war der Aufreger des Spiels Fire gegen Hamburg. Jene Szene kurz vor Schluss als die Referees zu entscheiden hatten, ob Rhein Fire Running Back Jacques Lewis den Ball verloren hatte (Fumble) oder die Düsseldorfer ein neues First Down erreicht hatten.

Die Schiedsrichter entschieden nach längerer Diskussion auf First Down – und lagen 100 Prozent richtig. Das beweist das Foto von Liga-Fotograf Wayne Paulo, der im exakt richtigen Moment auf den Auslöser drückte. Wir sehen Jacques Lewis mit dem Knie auf dem Boden und dem Ball in der Hand.

Erst einen Sekunden Bruchteil später gelingt es dem Hamburger Abwehrspieler den Ball zu erobern. Zu spät. Kein Fumble. First Down Rhein Fire. Richtige Entscheidung der Schiedsrichter. Der wichtige Ausgleich für Rhein Fire zum 21:21-Zwischenstand fiel wenig später zu Recht. Und das macht den tollen Sieg gegen die Sea Devils noch schöner.

I wanted to add one more item on the latest Fire game. I thought the game announcer from the UK was very good. He did an excellent job of following the flow of the game, was obviously comfortable with the flow of the game and knew the players well. Very professional and I enjoyed listening to the game as well as watching. Let's bring him over to do some NFL games.

I agree with this and felt that Ray Buchanan was as BAD as that guy was good.
