I see what you're saying but you have to put personal relationships aside from the team. He might be the nicest guy in the world but if he's hurting the team you have to make a change.

I'm not ripping the person, I've never met Pettiti and I'm sure he's a nice guy, but what I see on the field leaves A LOT to be desired.

Yeah, but your basically proclaiming this guy a bust. And the season is barely half way through. You cannot base your assessment after only 11 games. Especially when he is very young... a rookie.

You sat there and said he was not NFL material.

The kid can play. He needs time to develope. He needs more time than just 11 games.

No offense, but I don't think he needs our support. If big Bill thinks he's doing ok, then he's doing ok, and really that's probably all that matters to him and pittdawg.
Post of the day.

If Parcells thought he sucks he'd replace him by now.

Not talking about you, just talking in General

Serioulsy, I am not trying to be cynical, but how is Petitti hurting the squad? Name some plays that I may have missed where the guy just played got OWNED and cost us the victory.

Im telling you guys, be careful what you wish for because you never really know what you got until it is gone.

We should have beat Denver and I bet the guys in Denver will tell you that. Guys, the Broncos give every team fits. Arent they like 3rd overall in defense? I bet they are near the top of the league is sacking the quarterback.

Yes, I wish we had a Flozell, Allen, Mount Mckinney, Mawae, Ogden type player at every position on the line and even their backups.

Im just asking the million dollar question here. I am going to throw a couple of million dollar questions out and I just want to see them answered?

What exact plays can you point to where Petitti really cost us a game?

What were you all expecting from a 6th round pick, switching position and is a rookie in division with Hall of Fame prospects such as Kearse and Strahan?

What has Petitti shown you to make you beleive he will not improve next year?

Im not being cynical here, I think the 3 questions above are very important if you feel there is alot more to be desired.

CB Donald Williams.

She also told us Dedric Ward was injured and a lot of other stuff.

Man, I know it was a safety. I know DW struggled to stay focused, but I am thinking of someone else.

It was like the guy had to leave because of family matters and then came back and told Parcells he just couldnt get into the game.

Full support here. The guys has worked his arse off and is mostly holding his own against some VERY tough ends this year. He's a rookie to boot.

Quit riding the guy. He's doing far more than was expected of him this year, and he'll only get better.

I'm not going to point out every play, you can go watch the game for yourself and see that we were trying to run to the right the entire game and it got nowhere. Ebenezer Ekuban, Pettiti's man, was in the backfield before the RB even got the ball half the time.

What were you all expecting from a 6th round pick, switching position and is a rookie in division with Hall of Fame prospects such as Kearse and Strahan?

That's exactly it. He's a 6th round pick, a marginal NFL talent at best. People are trying to see talent in him that just isn't there. I expected him to struggle with guys like Strahan and need help with him, but I did not expect him to get tossed around like a rag doll by Ebenezer Ekuban of all people.

What has Petitti shown you to make you beleive he will not improve next year?

His problems are not mental, they are physical. He's just slow and doesn't use his strength well He doesn't have the lateral quickness to consistantly play at a high level and he gets blown off the line FAR too much.

Oh jesus, give me a break.

I understand the guys dad posts here and everything but this is ridiculous. I'm a fan of the DALLAS COWBOYS, not the DALLAS PETTITI's. I'm not going sugarcoat my feelings about it.

His play on the line, along with the play of Marco Rivera, is KILLING this team right now. The guy is just not a starting caliber NFL player, period. He's just not a good player.

Why isn't there any "Let's support Scott Fujita" threads? Or a "Support Marco Rivera" thread? They suck too, but nobody seems to care about that.

Fujita and Rivera are not rooks. Pettiti is. You were probaly one of those who thought Terence Newman sucked last year and thought he was not a starter talent.

Wow, I didnt know that. Just goes to show you my lack of posting lately.

Yeah, I would be really cautious when ripping a player when his relatives post on the forum. I know we had a situation like that when Brown Sugar was dating Mr. Hambrick.

I really try not to say anybody sucks. I just say they could be a bust or just not playing good ;) .

It's called responsible posting and actually having a level of maturity that I'd say 99% of the posters on this board have.

There are a couple who don't see the difference between, "Petitti sucks" and "Petitti played poorly" etc.

We have some disrespectful, irresponsible guys here indeed, but thankfully they are few and far between.

Hos, I think you're thinking Donald Mitchell when you say the name, and it's a guy with a completely different name who we had plucked off the Jets practice squad the season prior or something to that effect.

Man, I think it was someone else too. Donald Mitchell did retire, but I thought this was the guy from the Jets, who after he told Parcells he didn't want to play anymore, actually went back to the Jets. But I'm pretty sure he ended up not making their team after all.

That was Jameel Powell.

Claimed he wanted to retire, Parcells cut him, then he wound up on the Jets again.

LOL, there were a few corners in there late in the '03 season and the '04 camp that all kind of blend together in hindsight!

Who is Andrew Davison?

A perfect example of what I just said in my previous post, LOL. I believe he was brought in late in the '03 season as well.
