Oh I'm not faulting them for not getting him. The best route was to stand pat. you truly love a guy and thinks he feels a need...you trade up to get him.

Most of the time yes, but not all the time. At some point you need to deviate from that.

Take a inferior talent? Or inferior prospect? That's a recipe for disaster.

That's why we always get beat deep and teams gash us up the middle.

Agreed. We can't make the critical stops on 3rd/4th and short and our secondary can't defend the deep ball when it matters most.

But hey, we have a philosophy and stuff.
