Emmy nominations. Guess I need to watch more TV because I have seen very few of these. Loved Shogun and hope it wins everything.

Plan on watching Fallout soon, and my wife loves The Bear, along with everyone else, but it’s still on my ‘binge it one day’ list.

Best Drama Series

The Crown (Netflix)
Fallout (Prime Video)
The Gilded Age (HBO)
The Morning Show (Apple TV+)
Mr. and Mrs. Smith (Prime Video)
Shogun (FX)
Slow Horses (Apple TV+)
3 Body Problem (Netflix)

Best Comedy Series

Abbott Elementary (ABC)
The Bear (FX)
Curb Your Enthusiasm (HBO/Max)
Hacks (HBO/Max)
Only Murders in the Building (Hulu)
Palm Royale (Apple TV+)
Reservation Dogs (FX)
What We Do in the Shadows (FX)
I've seen all but 3 of the drama series but I have only watched 1 of the comedies. I loved Curb Your Enthusiasm, but this last season was meh, for the most part.

I am surprised FallOut is considered a drama. I think it is somewhere in between. I loved Gilded Age, The Crown, and Shogun. I think Shogun is the clear winner of the 6 shows I watched though. The Crown probably comes next. I have to see the rest of 3 Body Problem before I can judge it.

I'm pretty sure "this last season" of Curb Your Enthusiasm is whatever rerun season you most recently finished.

Is The Boys one of the ten best shows ever created? I think there's a case to be made!
I only have 2 more episodes to binge. So far, it's as good if not better than seasons 2 and 3. The episode Old McDonald Had a Farm had me cracking up!!

Really enjoy how topical they have made this. You can see the real-world inspirations for stories and characters from all viewpoint spectrums. And love it how no one is truly all good or evil like your typical comic book character.

Netflix just put out the directors cut for Rebel Moon parts 1 and 2.

I do not know if it was the added scenes or if I just went into it knowing not to expect much since I was not thrilled with the previous releases.

It was ok. I seemed to like it better than I did the first time even though it has it's issues.

Just watched a documentary called Skywalkers: A Love Story on Netflix. It wasn't even on my queue, it just happened to start playing after we finished a movie. Kind of intrigued me, so we kept it going, and it was a solid watch. It's about a couple that illegally scale tall buildings and do death-defying climbs and acrobatic stunts atop of them. Stupid? Yes. Entertaining documentary? I thought so.

Might not be an easy watch for anybody that has a fear of heights.

I'd say every big name director hates being edited. That is why there are so many director's cuts versions of movies out there or they fight hard to have control of the editing process in the first place.

Reminds me of the older doc Man on Wire. I'll check it out, thanks.

Wrapped up the first part of Cobra Kai season 6. As usual, it was excellent, albeit a bit predictable towards the end. I saw the half-season 'cliffhanger' coming during the last couple episodes. Either way, I just love this show and all its great cheesiness. I'll be ready to watch the second half when it releases and see how they conclude it.

Edit: Part 2 will arrive on November 28, 2024.

I hate these half seasons.

Wrapped up Fallout. As screwed up as The Boys in many scenes, but more from a violence angle. I enjoyed it but thought it would be better for a show nominated for an Emmy.

Was episode 8 the season finale of House of Dragons?

Show was finally getting better.
More dragons and finally got some characters that people would like.

But that last episode, if it was the season finale, was the previous 2-3 episodes being out of this world only for it to fall all the way into the grand canyon.

Yeah, it was the finale. Supposedly the creator (of the books) wanted to do four seasons. From those that read this book they said that there should have been a battle at end of this season but they clearly moved it to season three so that they could stretch the series into four.

Gangs of London

2 seasons currently on netflix.
It appears to be a show that AMC did but I do not recall hearing about it before.

Watched first season and it is pretty good. However I am kind of shocked with how graphic it is. Lots of killing and so on but really graphic for a show not on HBO or one of the bigger pay channels. Maybe it is an AMC+ show only and not on the regular AMC tv channel.

Either way it is a pretty decent show but if you watch it just know it is not for little eyes.
