I watched the final episode of Dune: Prophecy. I thought the show was boring at first, but got better. The last episode was actually pretty good, I thought. In some ways I think they saved too much for the finale but I won't complain about that too much.
A lot of these shows seem to be almost knockoffs of Game of Thrones, IMO. I don't blame HBO for trying to replicate that success. This show has a little of that vibe to it, but it is not too bad. HBO has confirmed there will be a season 2 and I will look forward to it.
I won't say Dune: Prophecy is a great show, but it is good enough for a second season. I was not crazy about Travis Fimmel's performance, he played Ragnar in Vikings, I thought he maybe overacted a bit. But it looks like he will be a key character going forward so we'll see if he smooths out his performance in season 2 or hams it up even more. Overall, I thought the acting was decent enough.
