Love Stephen Grahams work interestingly enough he and Ashley Walters who both star in this are also in that Thousands Blows show on Disney Plus that releases around the same time.
Curious was it the show itself you found lacking or production?
I was hoping it actually showed the interaction between the boy and the girl. First when he hinted he liked her. Him reading the messages on his phone and getting angry. .Also him asking his friend for a knife.
I did not mind that it was not gory and bloody. But they could have shown the crime and how it built up more at the end of it when he was talking.
Finished "Reacher" season 3. I was not crazy about it. The series seems to be tired already. I don't see how they can squeeze any more out of this thing but it has been renewed for a 4th season. There is also a spinoff coming, which will be about Reacher's pal Neagley. When I saw her in Reacher season 3, I noticed she looked a bit more buff and less hard looking. Being the lead in her own series probably caused he to get in better shape. I am guessing of course.
As for Reacher S3, it's not awful but it wasn't that good either. Reacher is actually an arrogant jerk, so anyone liking him is a stretch to start off. The plot of this season was pretty typical of these shows. No real plot twists or original ideas. Of course it was kind of silly in a lot of ways too.
I have some specific beefs with the show, especially the last episode.
First, the fight between Reacher and Paulie was way too long and drawn out. Professional boxers work out like crazy to get in shape for a fight but they need rest after 3 rounds and there are not taking the kind of beating Reacher and Paulie gave each other. I think some shows/movies make the mistake of making fight scenes or chase scenes too long. These are features of a show, not the plot. I get it. It's the big show down between two huge guys. and by the way, fighting in or under water is very strenuous and as a result your body burns oxygen faster. No one holds their breath under water very long while exerting themselves.
I prefer the scene in Raiders of the Lost Ark where Indian Jones is confronted by a huge Arab guy with a big wide bladed curved sword. Jones just pulls out his gun and shoots the guy. Prolonged unrealistic fight scene avoided! The fight scene in Reacher was so long the rest of the episode seemed rushed and squeezed in. Something like that is also satisfying. What Reacher went through in that excessively long scene was ridiculous.
Reacher killing guys in cold blood seemed a little out of character or something. If it was 1 guy maybe it would be something to overlook but this season he was a killing machine. When the line is blurred between the good and the bad guys, it is harder to root for the hero. And who keeps loaded guns on display in his house? And who hangs a fully loaded Uz (and a bunch of other assault weapons) on the wall?
I don't know what kind of glue Richie used to fix that toy gun, but modern glues set in minutes. Even Elmer's Glue would have dried by the time his dad tried to fake it with the toy. In fact, one of the problems people have with modern glues is they set so fast it often prevents getting a perfect fit with the pieces being glued. This is being a bit picky but to me it is lazy writing.
The shootout between the ATF and the bad guys where everyone is killed had too many head shots/kill shots. That was unrealistic. Nothing about that scene was realistic at all. Miraculous how every ATF guy in body armor is shot dead but Reacher and his pals all escape un harmed.
Again, I am being picky but all this stuff adds up to kind of turn me off to the show.

I am only halfway in but kind of disagree with you here. I like the darker side so far and a better storyline than season two. I may change my opinion at the end but so far so good IMO.

I don't really dislike Dark Reacher. And taking the gloves off him does create possibilities for better storylines. I can see that. It just seems like a contradiction.

I don't think there's a contradiction. One of his traits is a strong sense of loyalty, especially to those he respects. He respected his old partner greatly, and needed to set things right.
I think now that he's settled it, he may not be dark anymore. Just my opinion.

The final countdown until my most anticipated premiere in quite some time. The Last US let's go!
I've platinum both games, some of the best ever, so I know what's going to come but oh man I can't wait to see it and the reactions that will follow with this season.

I am caught up on season 3 of Wheel of Time. The last episode drops on Thursday. I hate how Amazon releases episodes 1 at a time. That defeats the purpose of streaming. I probably should have waited until all episodes were released but I miscalculated.
In any case, I like it but all these fantasy, witchy, magicy stories are all started to blend together. The Force, the One Power or All Power, the light, the dark... There is a lot of sameness to all these stories.
Like I said, I am enjoying the Wheel of Time but I will see how the season ends on Thursday. I understand Season 4 has not yet been approved. If Amazon cancels it would be typical of Amazon. The canceled The Peripheral after 1 season despite it being one of the more original story lines to come out in a while.
Yeah, if I had one critique of the show, I’d agree with you on the casting of Ellie. I love the show, season one was incredibly faithful to the game (and I suspect season two will be too), but I never quite felt like the actress captured the same vibe as Ellie from the game.
Either way, I am excited for season 2. I'm just contemplating having patience and watching it at the end of the season so I can binge it.
Even as a diehard fan of the games, I think Bella Ramsey does a great job as Ellie. Everyone was like why wasn't it Elliot Page? And then came the complaints about Pedro Pascal as Joel. I'm excited to see what changes they made with part 2. Being split into 2 seasons will be interesting.

I caught the first episode last night. I hate the character. I never player the game and I know nothing about it. But the angsty know-it-all, hate authority, don't take the rules seriously character is so cliché at this point. We've seen it a million times. As for the actress, I think she is okay in this role, not great, but okay. I admit my superficial self thinks the actress is weird looking. I do not think she is a great actress. Her role in GoT was a great character. I think the way they bring her sexuality into this show is also unnecessary and a distraction.
I know the whole idea of shows like this is to escape realism. But I try to imagine what it would be like to be living in a world where monsters are roaming around everywhere intent on killing and eating normal animals including humans. I would hope that everyone would understand why certain rules are necessary and would be on their toes most of the time. The reckless behavior of an individual, or individuals, could get people killed. I doubt anyone as reckless as Ellie would survive in a world like that. or that her behavior would be tolerated for very long - and I am sick of the females being portrayed as the best fighters and dominant warriors, especially when they are 5 ft tall.
This isn't enough to turn me off to the show. I think there is still some good stuff in it. At this point I am trying to decide if I watch as each episode drops every week, or if I wait until all episodes are out and I can binge the rest of the show.
