I don't disagree, Guzman has some big shoes to fill. Astin and Julia were superb in the role In fact, I remember thinking how difficult it would be for Julia to play the role after Astin's performance. I was pleasantly surprised and then some. Perhaps the producers chose not to go that route and instead get a Gomez that was completely the opposite of the other two simply because they were so good in the role.

If you've ever seen the original comic, you'd think maybe Guzman wasn't a bad choice.

My daughter texted me last night and told me to check out a documentary on Netflix called Unknown Number. It wasn’t really on my radar, but I figured I’d watch it to be supportive, so my wife and I put it on. Wow! It was much better than I expected, and the ending has quite the "twist".

If you’re into documentaries, I definitely recommend it.

Once you get over it not being the Office its a pretty good show. I think it will get strong in the coming seasons. Solid start

I've never seen this before, but yeah, Guzman does resemble that cartoon character. But it is so hard to see Gomez as the suave "french speaking" lover played by Astin and Julia.

Finished Star Trek Strange New world season 3

I like the crew. Some of the stories are good.

But this one just does not tie together as well as the Star Trek Discovery series IMO.

Would rather seem them do another Star Trek that starts about 50 years after the Discovery future timeline finished.

I'm loving Alien Earth, but I'm a huge Alien homer. I really like them ending each episode on a great rock song.

Started watching it and enjoying the heck out of it. I had no idea the story was going the direction of corporate tech giants controlling the world with each one in charge of a new life tech - one over AI, one over cyborgs, one of new bio species, etc.... May not be all that far from the direction we're heading.

I like the new Alien series, especially because I was a youngin for the first movie. It will always be entrenched in me no matter how poor a few of the sequels were. But, I am impatiently awaiting for some real action in Alien: Earth. I have seen enough storylines, lets get to killin!

I finished watching Department Q. It was okay but the overall story is hard to fathom to be honest. As I think I mentioned in another post, it is very similar to Ballard, the Prime show and spinoff of the series Bosch. Both are about a cold case department created to sideline brilliant but troubled detectives who can't get along with the rest of the police force. Both departments are made up of mis-fits. The lead detective in Department Q is just too unlikeable to keep a job on the police force, or with any organization in my opinion. They overdid his character IMO. He is too anti-social and no one in their right mind would want to work with him or for him.

I give it a 5 out of 10.

The case of a woman missing for 4 years who turns out to have been held captive all that time in a decompression chamber is just too implausible for me. Imagine how much time and energy had to be expended by her captors in all that time. That's a long time. And all just to get her to admit to something without a clue of what it is? That's a determined set of kidnappers, even if they were both crazy.

Kind of an odd one. Direction, acting and budget were all good.
Appears to be a one season thing but maybe I am wrong.
Reminds me a little of the second season of true detectives.
Where the two main characters were bad people. Both have a bit of a good side but their pasts kind of just making them scumbags.
Really is kind of a depressing show but it keeps you interested.



Only a couple episodes up so gotta wait for the new ones.
English show. Guy that played Rick on TWD and the Woman who played Ellaria Sand. Guy starts having panic attacks and PTSD. He decides to move his family from London to Scotland hoping a smaller town kind of rural area will help. However the next door neighbors are a little off and the main character gets himself into new bit of trouble. Like I said only two episodes but it is enough to want to see more.

I'm a sucker for burnout detective dramas. I liked this UK version. As good as Slow Horses, the other UK burnout series, although centered on ex-spies? For me, yes, could probably get into Dept Q just a little bit more. But enjoyed it, And enjoyed Bosch and Ballard too. I know what you mean though about not being realistic. I remember telling my wife, boy, they better have a damn good story and reason why someone would put this much effort this many years to (spoiler, but if you saw the show you know what I'm talking about.)

I am enjoying it too, but it looks to me like a space aliens version of Jurassic Park. Some very creative creatures though. My gut tells me it is not going to "end". I suspect we will be set up for another season. There are too many creatures and loose ends to tie up on one more episode. I hope the brother winds up eaten by an alien or the crawling eye burrows into his head because he is an annoying character and bad actor.
