Official Tashard Choice Thread **MERGED**

Choice is a strong talent with an excellent future as a Dallas Cowboy. His gesture was innocent and family related... The game was over. This isn't the 50s. That era will never return. Get over it. Players actually shake hands, chat it up on the field, exchange numbers, plan after parties, and even (GASP) pray together after games. Sadly some of our fans have no idea how quickly players are ushered off to planes to fly back home. I find it even more silly that the media machine allows many of our fans to be poisoned by it's propaganda. I swear, the media would probably lead some of us right off of a cliff without one question as to why the orderly walk towards an area that appears to end.

I just figured I would post something to encourage another 15 pages of silliness! :laugh2:

As Parcells would say, "You've been sucked."

A two year old wanted an autograph. How stupid do you think we are Choice?

ESPN Crew: "It happens all the time. It's really not a big deal."

"That's probably the first time that's ever happened to me," Vick said of an opposing player's request after a game. "But [Choice] is a great guy. It doesn't surprise me."

Apparently Vick doesnt think it happens all the time.

lol, that's actually a good point I hadn't thought of, what 2 year old is asking for an autograph?

I don't think Choice said his two year old asked for it, did he? He just said he wanted it for his nephew.

I think there's an aspect that people miss. You can do something for a child who will appreciated it later when he's older.

I have saving accounts for my sons. Had them shortly after they were born. They can't appreciate that now. But they will one day.

If this kid is in a football-loving family, you mean to tell me that when the kid gets older, he's not going to appreciate an autograph from Vick?

I wish my dad had preserved some of his older comic books. I definitely would have appreciated them if he had reserved them for me for a time when I could appreciate them.

That's called damage control.

No, it's called understanding the range of human experience and accounting for it in an attempt to not be judgmental.

He just had Vick sign a glove for him. I'm just about to puke. That is a pathetic move.

WFAN in NY had this on about him. They were making fun of him. Said it showed why the Cowboys fell apart because of players like this guy. Where's the fire and competitiveness. It's like saying you don't belong on the field with him. You're his fan: paraphrasing
So pathetic !!!
What a loser!

That was just pathetic. Hopefully his team mates gave him hell for it.

Actually, his teammates have defended him.

Rrriigghhtt. The Cowboys fell apart because one player asked for an autograph. :laugh2:

I hope they didn't hurt their necks with that stretch.

I think some people are missing an important point. When did Choice get the pen? Was he thinking about gettting the autograph when the Eagles was running out the clock. I'm sure NFL players do get each other autographs. I'm sure Choice could have gotten Vick's autograph in many different ways. My problem with the whole thing is that I don't think Choice should have acted like a star struck idiot. Did he get Peyton Manning's autograph? I'm sure his nephew would love that one for his collection. If the Cowboys had won, how many of you think Vick would have signed the glove. I don't think Choice would have even asked. If Choice is going to be an elite player then he can't be fawning over players.

Somehow I think Mike Ditka would have went nuts if one of his Bears had been running around seeking autographs? Players should show good sportsmanship with handshakes or hug, but Choice's actions went overboard.

Where is that said? Why do you change what was said to fit your opinion.

You are smart enough to sign on the internet. You found this place so you must be able to read and comprehend at least a little...right?

Reread what they said. Maybe if you read it a few times you will get it. I'm not saying you have to agree. But at least make your response show thar you understand what you read. Why are you changing it?

I didn't read the rest of the thread so maybe someone has mentioned this before but this kind of stuff has been going around for long time in pro sports.

Gary Payton who was a super star himself at the time asked Michael Jordan to sign his shoes before a playoff game. IIRC, it was for his kid.

Hey Bleu... I see you changed your name to include Tashard's agent....nice. I was wondering what your reaction would be.

Who is going to be your favorite player next year if Choice isnt around anymore?

I wish players like Choice and Bennett would learn to fade into the background. You dont see Felix acting like these guys. Do they just need attention? As a runner I like Choice. I was starting to enjoy him and forget about all the TO crap and his locker room dancing.... Now he seems like a bit of a problem child. Too much talk about and from a backup player.

Ditka and the entire rest of the ESPN MNF crew said it was not a big deal and they all did that and all had extensive memorabilia collections with autographs.

Notice I had my custom title changed to that. The name will never change because it reflects my love for the blue star. That said, I'll do as I please (as long as the mods agree..lol) and have a little fun while the players that I like the most are wearing the jersey I love. Tomorrow is a new day & often cannot be accurately predicted.

FWIW, Felix is JAG IMO. Choice has a very good all around game. Both can contribute to the Boys next season but I really couldn't care less about Felix's personality as long as he is keeping himself out of the police blotter.
