Any way the Texans bail on Osweiler and pick up Romo? Probably impossible but that's his best fit.

O'Brien today said that a decision hasn't been made on Brock being the starter next season, so there is that. Romo would have to play for vet minimum for that too work and cook the books a bit. I say the Texans are unlikely but not impossible.

Romo needs a good OL.

Yea but he isn't going to find one on a team that can use him and that he will play for. Buffalo would be best for that but I can't see him playing up there. Houston is the best fit if they can upgrade the line. Perhaps Leary would go with him?

IMO Buffalo is his best option. Good line, run oriented HC with an elite all around back. Good overall team. A chance to compete with Brady.

Its his best chance to stay healthy, and if he stays healthy, that team could win 11 games. If he doesnt want to play there, and prefers Denvers sinking ship, then he deserves what he gets

really appreciate all that Romo has done for the organization. i will miss that spin move and air bomb game he has/had. the best one that represents this is the play he made on Watt and chucked it for a TD. wish him well on another team but if things were perfect he would be Cowboys two headed monster with Dak till he wanted to hang it up for good.

Discuss what exactly? He played one drive the entire season. He's made a total of 4 starts in the last 2 seasons. He has not finished back to back games since 2014. There is nothing to really discuss. He won't be on this team next season. Whichever way we decide to get rid of him. He threw his last pass as a Cowboy 3 weeks ago. Good luck on your next team but I will not miss the Romo era at all. I wish we could be getting rid of the Garrett era as well.

To be fair, w/o Romo, the Wade and Garrett era's would have been worse than Campo's :omg:

He is the one constant that has made the last decade watchable with some sense of hope. I don't get the hatred for him after seeing what this team has been for 20 years o_O

He has lost his share of games but there hasn't been any other player in Cowboys history that has endured what he has had to go through.

go cry on your oversized TRomo pillow
Didn't know they made those. Guess yours has soaked in many tears over the years from people putting you in your place. It'll be ok. Just stop posting. Problem solved.

I've said this before but will say it again since this is the 'official' TR thread

1. Teams go only as far as their QB play takes them

We are ready to contend now and our window is the next 3 years (who knows after that)

Given this, our back up QB is critical since any back up is 1 play away and I have no confidence in Sanchez trying to win us a couple of games

If you look at these factors, it is pretty clear that FOR US, Romo is VERY valuable for the next 3 years

2. Romo makes any average or above team an instant post season contender and likely had 2-3 years left

Given #1 and #2 above we would have to be absolutely crazy to cut him or trade him for anything less than a first Rd pick and potentially more. We need to look at his value to us and to the other team and make the decision with our head not based on some misplaced sense of loyalty. This franchise has paid Romo a LOT of money so we should expect loyalty from him.

Having said all this and knowing the morons making decisions for this franchise I'm not going to be surprised at all of we cut him or ship him out for a Rd 3 or 4 pick

Forgetting that Butler dropped a TD off his hands, T Will let one bounce off his chest and Witten was tripped up on another miss?

Actually the really bad pick he threw in the red zone, the deep throw a play before that should have been picked when the safety was just sitting deep that Dak didn't see, and the throw in the end zone to Witten who was surrounded by three Packers kinda cancelled those out. Dak played pretty good. But in the playoffs, those few mistakes lose games.

As much as I supported Dak and felt he should have continued to lead this team throughout the year, I do wonder what Romo would have done with this team if he had stayed healthy.
I almost hate that he got injured in the preseason. But that may have been a harbinger of things to come had he started the first game of the season.
But, sigh, we'll never know.

I am troll because Romo has been paid 128m......thats idiotic

It's Jerry's money, not yours. Why should you care. You can't even dream about getting to the playoffs without a great QB and
no one thought Dak would be ready in year 1. I understand that the Skins board is looking for trolls.

Nice post but, not realistic.
1. Stephen is not paying Tony to stand on the sidelines and carry a clipboard at 14mil a pop.
2. Tony would not be a happy camper if he was relegated to standing on the sideline.
3. An unhappy Tony might just retire forcing all his 19mil cap hit on the books for this year.
4. Tony can always nix any trade to a team he doesn't like by retiring and the cap hit comes fast.
5. Jerry not partial to like the idea of parting with Tony on unfriendly terms.
