And there in lies the problem.

He and his family are not going anywhere and if they don't significantly change their ways then any discussion we have on this or any other board is a wast of time and brain cells.

You can try to ignore the elephant in the room, but he's still in the room.

Change their ways how?
how about Hiring a real coach and then not meddle let the HC run things like Jimmy did.

Romo took a beating here, both physically & mentally. Gave us his all & never got the respect he deserved for carrying this franchise on his broken back for years. I hope if/when he ends his career, he'll get the Super Bowl ring he should have had already & eventually retire as a Dallas Cowboy.

Man I was hoping beyond hope that we'd win the Super Bowl, and Tony would go out and run the Landry Shift on the last play. That'd made my year.

I don't want him to go.

They will try. They will fail. And then they will release him as a post-June 1 cut.
If no team offers a good offer, then they should keep him another year, they could make a mid season deal if they hang on to him.

thing is it would be prudent to keep tony another year, until they verify Dak
is what he seems to be.
Dak did not do as good in later part of this season, and well was 1 and done in playoffs.
And I dont blame Dak, but bottom line is they lost.
I know like Cousins and some others, have had a great 1st year then after that were
ordinary.
If Dak starts out 6-0 then you know, but if he starts out 3-3 you might be glad you kept tony?

Yeah, that's what I'd do. The price to keep him this year is 5 million. The only thing you get by cutting him this year is salary cap space THIS year. But you're just shoving the difference into next year.

In my opinion, I'd let them compete in camp. No preferential treatment, best man for the job. Competition never hurt anybody.

Say what you want about Romo but until romo came along out of nowhere our QB situation was really bad. He made us a threat over the years. Then dak came along. It's the way it goes. I'm just happy we have a future QB.

And if Tony does leave, he wont go to a cold weather team, and probably a team with a Dome.
I think he would want a team with good defense, and those 2 things narrow it down, so Texans look like a good choice as they
are also close.
But if Tony wants a payback scenario and is released, he could go to the skins, and then compete against dallas and dak lol.
That would be interesting !!

My goodness, some of this thread is reaching cult-like status. Confirms my suspicions that many of you are fans of Romo more than the team.

Safe to say (one can hope) that a lot of you (you know who you are) will take your worship and move onto Tony's next stop?

The fans of the Cowboys will be here.

It's the evolved containment option for thread derailment material. Years of experience to figure it out. Can cut the meandering as it comes out.
Explain what you mean? I'm very curious but have no idea how it works.

yeah I would consider that too, even give tony next year to see what he can do, and if he gets hurt or does poorly, just put dak back in.

I thought Dak had the magic mojo to win no matter what, but I forgot about JG and the other coaches lol.
So really Dallas has 2 starters, and that is something to consider staying with for at least next season.

I doubt they will have the good sense to do that, but it is possible.
Most want to cash in Romo for 1 draft pick, and if that pick is wasted on a gregory etc, then you really get nothing for tony, and he is gone.
The money they can save for FA, wont appear till 2018, and if they draft all defense next year they can get some help on defense.

Although, I think the problem on defense is more marinelli than the players.

On the last play that beat them marinelli thought it was smart thing to just rush 3 lol and play his goofy zone, and let cook run uncovered down to
the 30 lol .
I would have jammed all receivers at the line and doubled cook as he is Rodgers go to guy and rushed 5, then that last play doesnt happen.
But what do I know !

Dak had a great season, but he had his shot at a playoff run and failed, so I would not be in a hurry to let Tony go.
In fact might be good to see what tony can do next season and give him his one last shot to see if he can make a run.

He will need an outstanding OL more than anything.

Any way the Texans bail on Osweiler and pick up Romo? Probably impossible but that's his best fit.
