They are full of you know what, Romo and JJ are pretty close, and if he wants to keep looking like some magical owner thats just a big sucker for guys that put the work in, Romo goes anywhere he wants. Saying that, if philly can get what they did for Sam...we deserve something if we can pull it off.

you're not geting much for an aging often injured 37 year old quarterback with big money owing him in a cap league when teams know you can't keep him on your roster anyway.,....

If you're the Commanders, do you want to commit 20 million per year to Cousins, or let him walk and bring in Romo while drafting another young QB?

Sorry....so sick of the whining and blame game over yesterday's loss that I decided to bring more pain.

i'd bring romo in just for the spite of it

You cannot trust it if the report is from the teams bidding themselves. They are going to posture. If anything you up that because they will lowball as a matter of course.

If it is anyone else then what do they know?

Romo will be a June 1st cut. Nobody will trade for him.

4th or 5th seems right. 36 years old. Hasn't completed a full season in a long time. Those people expecting a 1st or 2nd are dreaming.

Those expecting anything outside a release are dreaming...he may be worth it, but he wont be willing to go to who's willing to do it and Jerry (or Stephen) wont make him.

Everyone keeps talking about 5 million of cap savings if Romo is traded. That's true in a vacuum. But we must consider a trade also clears the books of Romos contract going forward. From there cap numbers from other large contracts can be manipulated due to the additional flexibility.

Side note, thank you Tony, but Dallas must move on and take advantage of this window with Daks rookie contract.

The post june 1st cut does nothing to help the Cowboys free up space for free agency until after June 1st. A 5th round pick is laughable for Romo. I still think the Cowboys could fetch as much as a 2nd rounder.

LOL if we got a 4th or 5th for Romo the front office reallyyyy needs to go. You take a 2nd for him at least, or leave him on the team.

First, they need to restructure his contract in order to attract some suitors, a 4th doesn't sound bad to me.

It would be nice if we could get decent player for him. Another mans trash is another mans treasure.

We will not get draft picks for an ageing/injury prone player who will most likely get released. Teams know that Dallas will probably have to release him. If there is a bidding war, then the picks come into play but I don't see that happening. Romo will only go to certain teams and those same teams will wait it out for his release IMO.

If I'm Romo I'd eye the Texans they have a defense an oline and a RB with serviceable WRs. Bill O would love to have this guy as his QB. Tough gritty and intelligent. Oh and the guy can play QB just a little bit.

Correct me if I'm wrong but a trade doesn't remove a lot from the books if at all. A post June 1st cut could be spread over two years though helping a lot
They save 14M of cap space if Romo is gone. It does not matter if he is cut immediately, after June 1st, traded or retires. It does change when they see the cap savings, but the total amount is 14M regardless. They have plenty of ways to get as much cap space as needed in 2017; therefore, trade, pre or post June 1st is all the same in the long run. Technically, he would owe the team some money if he retired, but Jerry would not force him to pay it back. That number is 12.5M.
