First thing i would do is get a new coach.
The one guy id go after is Lovie Smith. I think Kiffin retires after this season. And if Lovie is brought in Marinelli will stay.
Wether we like it or not Dallas will have to continue to restructure the big contracts or cut these players and field a young inexperienced team. I wouldnt mind the 2nd option but I know people would be complaining about it before training camp even starts.
So as if right now with Drake and Lawrence being Waived Dallas is 30,808,611 over the cap.
Restructure Romo to the Min Dallas reduces its cap and is over 18,263,611
Restructure Ware to the Min and it reduces the cap to 6,868,611 over the cap.
Restructure Carr to Min and it drops to 98,611 over the cap
Restructure Witten and Dallas is under the cap 3,946,389
Designate Austin for a June cut to free up 5.5 mil and future cap they are going to need in 2015.. But im not going to count it for the cap just yet.
Restructure Scandrick and the cap moves to 7,716,389
Restructure Free and it goes up 10,361,389
Restructure Mack 12,381,389
Cuts
Durant 13,631389
Irvin 14,361,389
Wilson 15,006,389
Weems 15,576,389
Olson 16,071,389
Now it comes to Free Agency
While Ive seen some people say they'd want Melton. In no way does Chicago even allow him to get to FA. But Dallas has the cap to sign some people who can impact 2014 for the cowboys.
First though, they have to sign their own FAs
Hatcher DT(maybe)
Dan Bailey K
Chris Jones P
I think it will be cheaper to sign these two kickers to long term deals because they cant really tender then as RFA because they werent drafted. They can sign them as a 2nd round tender but thats over 2 mil. So the smarter money would be to sign for 3 yrs.
Greg Hardy DE Panthers
Corey Peters DT Falcons
T.J Ward S Browns
Then comes the draft. and According to AdamJT Dallas is going to most likely be getting 4 7th RD Comp Picks.
RD1 Khalil Mack LB Buff
RD2 Michael Sam DE Mizzou
RD3 DaQuan Jones DT PSU
RD4 Aaron Murray QB Georgia
RD5 Stanley Jean-Baptiste CB Nebraska
RD6 Ryan Groy G Wisconsin
RD7 Ben Gardner DE Stanford
Comp picks
RD7 Ken Bishop DT Northern ILL
RD7 Silas Redd RB USC
RD7 Austin Wentworth T Fresno State
Rd7 Derel Walker WR Texas A&M
