Offseason Needs vs Reasons we Lost

The whole WR situation from cutting Cooper on was a complete disaster…swing and a miss.

I actually think Tyler has developed and turned into a steady NFL C.
Maybe i'm just biased, but i'm not a fan of his. I'd love to upgrade the C position, maybe move him to LG or just get a LG too.

To an extent yes, but I think Tyron is just about done so you’re also drafting a future starter.
Yes, we are going to need another left side starter at some point. Good time to start developing one.

That’s why love the OT / G prospects. Love the idea of potentially hitting on an OT but having them be a G in your back pocket.

Most agreed our major offseason needs were WR, OL and DT. We did almost nothing to fill these holes and I’m not surprised they were major reasons we lost.

Dak didn’t play well but Lamb had zero help, the OL created zero push in the run game and our run D got soft down the stretch towards the end of the game when we needed it most.

The worst part is the Jones will likely do nothin in FA / trades and we’ll likely count on “our guys” and draft picks to be difference makers.

Sigh.
It's a near guarantee that they'll do something at WR.
- They have a history over putting a high value on WRs.

OLine should be good if they keep the same players.
- Tyron at RT until Steele returns.
- Then they have the option of Tyron at LT and Tyler at LG.

DT
- They've undervalued this position; however, the trade for Hankins was an admission of failure to address the positon before the season.
- If Quinn stays, he'll likely demand a legit 1tech. Hankins will be 31 and uber-fat guys generally don't age well (Jason Peters being a big exception).
- If they have a new DC, he'll review game film and immediate put DT at the top of his needs list.

I like the idea of signing Payne and trading for Juedy / Cooks.

That would free us in the draft to take too talent. Class is loaded at CB and TE so we could likely find CB in the first few rounds and let Schultz walk.

  • He saved our bacon because we didn’t do our due diligence in FA and forced a need pick.
People have different perceptions and their choice of words is just a view. He’s our future and a good one but I appreciate your time

  • 1st INT:
    • The CB went up really high to get the ball. Why was Gallup 3 yards behind the DB. The DB was behind Gallup when the pass was thrown.

  • 2nd INT:
    • Dak was a clock tick late. It is ok to throw that pass even with the Safety there, but it has to be a tick earlier.
    • The bigger fault is coaching and/or receivers for not being close to open on any other routes.

Perception is sometimes reality. Good teams that are acquiring talent in the offseason AND the draft are the ones making deeper playoff runs.

Yes - Tyler is part of the future. I’d rather see him at LG but regardless hope he continues to improve and develop.

Jerry Jeudy is on his rookie contract for 1 more season plus the 5th year option.

He has not lived up to his draft status, but he would be a legit #2 WR.

Not sure what pick it would take to get him.

Not sure what pick I would want to give for him.

I think he’s just been hampered by poor QB play. MG is off the books after next year so you could potentially extend JJ as that happens if he plays up to expectations.

Preferably a 4th but I’d probably give up a 3rd.

The good news is that they hit on Tyler Smith who has such versatility. No problem continuing to upgrade the OL, but we have other needs that might be more important this offseason.

I think they are going to need to add a starting caliber Guard via fa to replace McGovern.

Unfortunately, I heard Denver was seeking a 2nd rd pick, that price was too high for any team to meet their demands. Perhaps, they lower the price this year.

Stephen Jones is not gonna trade high draft picks for a no.2 WR.

Since they already have their established no.1 lead wr in lamb
They are likely to do a redo on that wr in round one to two depending upon the value

They did almost pull the trigger with Cooks, heard the draft compensation was agreed upon, but they wanted to re-work his contract. This franchise has always valued the position, I fully expect either a fa or a high draft pick. No way they can go into next season, expecting Gallup to rebound. If he has another poor season, there is an out after next yr.

Prescott was the main reason the team lost. There were other factors but Prescott couldn't make any plays despite the D carrying him. It speaks volumes that his own players dug him out after the game. Trading Cooper was always a huge mistake but in reality what difference would it have made given Prescott missed Lamb and Gallup on regulation throws for game changing plays.

Same ol shiznite every year.
No Not Really. Last year we were one and Done. This year we got the playoff monkey off our backs and won one away from Texas.

Come on tell the truth. I get being disappointed but be accurate.

Mike McCarthy has had 3 years and he has us going in the right direction. If I have to tell you what's different around here, I don't know what to say

6-10 12-5 12-5 Come on man !!!!!!

For sure. Regardless he’ll be part of the future on the left side!

They should. Keep in mind the Cowboys we’re close on Cooks so they might re start those talks.

I’d much rather have a solid vet traded
for then go into a weak WR class and reach for need.
