you had injuries in there sure I agree with some of that list but I got to take safety off there I don't know how well bill and Thomas are going to come back but I think our safety is actually played better than you think you go D line first right defensive tackle all the injuries we had on the back end as well as not being able to really solidify the middle of the defense you're blaming the safeties I didn't see it I think we could roll with those safeties when bell and Thomas come back maybe you make one cut there but I don't think that's a priority you said priority now there are more priority and I also have to question garden tackle on the offensive line we have a lot of guys on this team that can solidify that line we have bigger needs than those two positions...

my biggest need position list is,

OLB pass rush/or LB maybe both given the big? on Overshown and Kendricks futures as well as tank, WR2, RB, and IDL.

Truly there's so many issues with the injuries across the board it's hard to tell who we're going to have and not have is it be tougher on this front office than it normally is because they don't know when these guys are coming back... etc. The injuries are truly what decimated this team this year we know this and we're not gonna debate it and argue it here but it's hard to know what you need and don't need by not knowing the futures of all these players that got hurt...

definitely a very challenging offseason but first and foremost we need to know who the coaching staff is and know what the schemes are to know who to replace....
Safety is a concern as both starters took a step back and are fa after next season. Believe Bell is restricted this year and Thomas just had a major injury. It isn't a red alert need, but more of a near future one.

Edge is a need, but they just used a 2nd rd pick on one and still have Sam Williams. Probably can get by another season if they add another depth rusher.

Just too many needs to address this year, especially if they avoid fa like they usually do.

1. NT/DT
2. RB
3. LB
4. CB
4 Major needs due to lack of players and talent level. 2+ acquisitions each position.

5. OG
6. TE
7. WR
3 positions with plenty bodies, but could use 1 really good player to make the whole group and offense better.

8. OT
9. QB
0. FS
Underperforming positions with significant money or resources involved, so the players have to improve moreso than make a move.

*I'm content at DE, but I'm always open to a talented rusher opposite Micah.
I have WR higher, but won't disagree about both LB/CB due to the injuries and poor depth.

Priority:

DT-decision needs to be made on Osa, have zero depth at the position. Run defense remains a huge concern.
WR-Cooks isn't expected back, they do not have a true #2 receiver on this roster
RB-our lead back scored just 2 rushing TD's all season long.

Secondary:

Corner/LB due to the injuries of Diggs/Overshown-depth at both positions is very thin.
Guard/Tackle-might be a year to see if our young prospects can be productive starters
Safety-both our starting safeties struggled this year and are playing on their last yr of their contracts
Edge-Sam Williams is still under contract, will DLaw be resigned? Could sign another Lawson/Fowler type for depth
In that priority order:

QB 1
QB 2
LT
1-tech DT
DE (left preferably)
RT
1-tech DT
LB
CB
3-tech DT

I like what i have seen from our #1 RB. His low TD number is because the political decission was to hand the ball to Cabo in the redzone.

The lead back, could have scored more tds if they would have let him.

If re-signing Osa means we don't try to improve the 3-tech position, then I'd rather let him walk.

WR and RB are the top needs outside of 3-tech. I'd see if Miami would take Steele and Tolbert for Hill. (We might have to sweeten the deal some, but keep in mind that Hill is going into his 30s and his contract is pretty costly for next year.)

Linebacker and corner are concerns because of Overshown and Diggs injuries, but I don't know if I'd want Dallas to spend a high draft pick on either position right now. Maybe a stopgap veteran until they return, and, of course, re-signing Lewis. (If Zimmer returns, then Kendricks is likely to come back for another year.)

I'm OK with sticking with the OL we have and maybe not adding a safety until the later rounds to give Bell and Thomas a turn to start. (Vet depth would be good, though.)

At end, I'd re-sign Golston and Lawson to pair with Williams, Kneeland and Parsons. Age, injury and probably cost should eliminate Lawrence from the equation.

I agree with the veteran route for corner and linebacker and allowing the OL prospects a chance

I forgot .......Aubrey and Turpin are also starting free agents. Both were just selected to the ALL-PRO team, so they are def priority signings.
I agree ........FA at DT ( NT/Tech 1) pair him with Mazi. Would love to have Osa back but we have too many needs to pay him $10-15M. Duece is the only signed RB.. we need two, draft and free agent.
They aren't RFA I thought we had to the right to match any offer?

There is this concept the Jones clan needs to embrace that would help solve the Cowboys roster problems.

It's simply called FREE AGENCY.
I agree free agency is for that extra one or two players that you need to help you get over the top.
