Safety is a concern as both starters took a step back and are fa after next season. Believe Bell is restricted this year and Thomas just had a major injury. It isn't a red alert need, but more of a near future one.

Edge is a need, but they just used a 2nd rd pick on one and still have Sam Williams. Probably can get by another season if they add another depth rusher.

Just too many needs to address this year, especially if they avoid fa like they usually do.
You're not going to fix all those holes in one off season, you have to make concessions, and safety would be the one that can roll with what they have because they have other positions with huge holes it's a concern it's not a hole IMHO

They need everything.

They can probably get away with the CBs they have assuming they are healthy. Its not a perfect situation but there are higher priorities.
The same can be said of the safety position.

With Overshown down for most of the 2025 season they need LB depth. What happened to Clark. Another 2024 disappointment.

The DL is a huge priority. Osa, Golston, Joseph and Watkins are all free agents. Mazi, Rogers, and Daxon are the only DTs signed for 2025.

DE can use some help too. Kneeland did not show much this year. Lawson and Lawrence are free agents. Sam Williams is coming back but who knows what he will look like after the injury. I haven't heard much about him or his rehab. DE is a big need as well.

I think they must dip into free agency on defense this year but I think Jerry will do nothing.

If nothing else sign Lewis and OSA or Golston.

I don't know what they should do with the OL. Is Guyton going to come back stronger next year? Is Hoffman really the answer at LG? Is Steel worth his contract? I am not convinced moving Guyton to RT solves his problem. He needs to get stronger to play in the NFL. I would hate to use a 1st round draft pick on the OL again, but if the BPA is an OT, then I'd be okay taking him.

They need a speedy WR2, and a RB1 and RB2. If they take Jeanty in the first and another RB later I wouldn't be too bothered. At least it would be a major upgrade at 1 position. I am a little hesitant about Jeanty until I see his combine numbers, especially his 40 time.

They can get away with the TEs they have for one more year but someone needs to teach them all how to block. They usually sign a TE or two as undrafted free agents and I expect they will do that again this year.

If a QB with legs, a good arm, and a brain drops to them on day 3, they should take him. I don't like this QB class but maybe there is a diamond in the rough out there somewhere.

There is this concept the Jones clan needs to embrace that would help solve the Cowboys roster problems.

It's simply called FREE AGENCY.
They don’t know about FA
FA for hard to draft positions is necessary to build a roster. Once you get past 3rd rnd the draft rarely gives you day one starters. 4-7 are guys that need to develop and you ate really lucky if one does. I’d get a DT in FA because they are hard to draft. Then add a RB, WR and what other positions you can find in the draft. Keep Kendrick, Lewis, gholston. But we have to add talent to the roster and you can’t add talent just through the draft. It’s just not possible to get lucky with that many picks

Priority:

DT-decision needs to be made on Osa, have zero depth at the position. Run defense remains a huge concern.
WR-Cooks isn't expected back, they do not have a true #2 receiver on this roster
RB-our lead back scored just 2 rushing TD's all season long.

Secondary:

Corner/LB due to the injuries of Diggs/Overshown-depth at both positions is very thin.
Guard/Tackle-might be a year to see if our young prospects can be productive starters
Safety-both our starting safeties struggled this year and are playing on their last yr of their contracts
Edge-Sam Williams is still under contract, will DLaw be resigned? Could sign another Lawson/Fowler type for depth

JMO,
Safety took a step back, just like the DB coach did, when they changed the DC and how things were covered. If you bring back Zim, then you need different Safeties. If a different DC, then you could be good with both the safeties and the DB coach Harris. Might be a Need or could be Good.
Corner is fine when everyone is healthy....play the year with your best CB's either coming back from injury or getting injured, in a new defense, and yep --- hard to recover. Might be a Need or could be Good based upon health and DC.

LB is a NEED -- Overshown being out and style of play based on DC make this a big NEED.
DE is only a true need if Tank is gone and Parsons is going to be a defensive stalwart instead of a DE. (Who's the DC?) Kneeland, Williams, Tank, possible Micah for 2 positions
DT is a NEED

RB is a NEED
QB is a sore subject debated by many --- only a need IF certain situations arise.
TE last on the list -- Dallas is fine here, but of course could use a dynamic TD scoring, faster than WR, better stronger blocker than all linemen, stud. Good luck - IMO, what they have is good.
OL is fine, need to see what you have and hold accountable. Better OL coach would be nice.
WR is fine because you have a #1 WR, and several WR that might be able to step into that #2 role with the chance. Would it be nice to have a #1 WR acting as a #2 sure, but it is not a Need.

So IMO, the first 3 rounds of the draft should include DT, LB, and RB. (Order dependent on availability, trade downs, evaluations, etc) All three should be starting by mid first year or sooner.

I don't think you can find a WR in the 4th round or later in the draft, so FA WR for the #2. I am not saying a WR isn't needed, just that unless the idea is to replace CD in a few, then now is not the time to use the draft capital it would take to get, with the current needs.
Get a good FA situational pass rusher via FA. Doesn't need to be a starter, just a good rotational guy.

GM change isn't an option, but the QB signing was definitely a marketing guru signature, not a football guru signature.

IT will take at least two full seasons to build a roster to challenge for a RING

Priority this offseason should be the DL and LB and get a RB and maybe a WR.
Lawrence will either be gone or no longer a real starter. Kneeland is a maybe as is Williams. So we need at LEAST ONE DE

DT we need two since no one knows if Mazi is ever going to be more than a rotational player at best
TWO DT

Overshown might never come all the way back and its quite likely he will not play until midseason anyway.
Liafu took steps late in the season and its fair to pencil him at one slot. Kendricks is a question mark; does he have another top season in him? TWO LB

Rico is a nice backup and part timer but that is all. Nobody else is good enough to take a chance on.
ONE RB and two if we let Rico go

WR we need a burner to loosen up the D for CeeDee. ONE WR

TE did not look like a problem but Ferguson regressed and Schoon is not all that. ONE TE

We have enough young people on the OL at the moment that we can fly with what we have this next season. BUT odds are we are going to have to bring in at least ONE OL

That is nine players

basically NINE positions that need serious upgrades.

That means two offseasons

A multitude of timely decisions is needed for this organization to recover from the doldrums of last year! I hope that our FO decides to quit sitting on their hands and makes up for the many things that they missed in 2024. An RB with huge talent is needed for the year 2025. That's a must!
