I see center as the biggest need if Biadasz walks. At LT they will move Tyler Smith back over, and I think T.J. Bass can develop into a starter at one of the guard spots. Also think they have something in Asim Richards once he adds a little more power.

We need some serious help on the line next season. Who knows if biadiaz will be resigned. Martin is getting up there same with smith.
- Martin is still playing at a All pro level, I 'm not worried about him.
- Either Biadasnz or Pollard will be either re-signed, franchise tagged, or one or both will walk as a FA.
Which is the most valuable ?

- Steele has been re-signed to a long term, and Tyler is said to be the future long term LT, once Tyron has moved on.
- I'm seeing both Richardson and Bass as backups but I gotta feeling about Richardson could really turn into a player.

- We need to plan for Tyron's replacement, make decision on the center Tyler B. ..
-and once again figure out the long term fix at LG,
-and always, always keep pushing and plugging at quality depth.

Martin still plays at a high level but nagging injuries causing him to miss games. This will get worse the older he gets. Tyron has been an issue, Biadiaz is young but is banged up to. Our depth is mostly unknowns at this point.

They should have kept Tyler at LT, used Tyron as his and Steele's back up and went out in FA to get a solid G or kept McGovern.

One of Jerry’s many weaknesses as a GM is his inability to let go of players before it’s painfully obvious that their value is already gone.

When your GM hangs onto key players too long, the team ends up constantly chasing needs rather than being proactively ahead of them. Jerry loves his players.

The best GMs in the NFL avoid getting attached to players so they can remain objective. Because their job depends on it. In the Dallas front office, no one named Jones’ job depends on winning.
Excellent post!!! This right here is one of the biggest reasons why we haven't won in a LONG time. Our GM keeps players based on salary, popularity and marketability. He also is terrified of admitting his mistakes and takes FOREVER to rectify them. Other top teams would have replaced T. Smith 2 seasons ago.

Tyler Smith is the future at LT. He was a three-year starter at LT in college and we saw him handle his business there last season.
Then why didn’t he play LT vs the Cardinals. Instead we took a guard in Chuma and put him at LT and kept Smith at guard.

I love Tyron. He was a dominant machine here for years. One of the best LTs in football. But his injuries make him unreliable. It's almost a given that he's going to spend time on the bench during the season now. And today, we find out he's out a 2nd game and honestly, it wouldn't surprise me if he's out a few more.

Cowboys need to move past him as painful as that is. If the plan is to move Tyler to LT, then great. Go find a legit LG this offseason. Draft a stud.

But counting on Tyron at this point is just fools gold. Our GM is a moron if he convinces himself next season will be different.
I've been screaming about the offensive line all off season. I've been told and told off that everything was fine. Now three games into the season and Tyron is watching the others play. I'm not a soothsayer, and surely others thought this as well, but that guy has not played an entire season since 2015.

I love what he brings when he's on the field, but he is breaking down at a consistent rate.

And the nose picking drunk who pretends to be the GM and spokesperson for the team on all, things football related has been betting on the come that Tyron will beat Father Time and come back and post an all-pro season.

The results of this season de[pend far more on what the offensive line does than the QB of this team. Most people miss that point.

I don't think Tyler will be a LT. If they want him to be the LT of the future than it is now, I mean, the guy played there last year why nit keep it going if they view him as a LT?

Why not play Asim some at LT to develop him a bit instead of giving a journeyman all the reps?

I think they could be developing their LT now or at least finding out they don't have the guy in house.

The plan my guess is to move Tyler Smith to LT permanently when HOFer Tyron Smith calls it quits or is cap cut.

- The LG will be up for grabs, and i don't think currently have that future starter currently on the roster.

- Also I'm willing to bet that new LG will come from the NFL draft than what it will be per FA.
What is the cap hit if we part ways with Tyron after this season? I’m not saying we should, I’m just curious what the numbers are.

I hope BPA in the first is a center who can improve the play of both guards and hopefully the QB.

We will probably go into the Draft with the mindset that we MUST draft an OT with the 1st pick....no matter what. Even if the best OT available when we pick in RD1 is only the 50th or 60th best player in the draft..... Mazi Part 2.

Drafting for need.....over (modified) Best Player Available gets you every time.

The "modified" in there, is to keep the dummies from going "so what if the best player in every round is a fullback....you gonna draft 7 fullback?"

Duuuuuuhhhhhhh

Tyron has been done for years, he should have been tradied while he had some value. He's like that guy who couldn't show up for his drug tests.

They debated between Mazi and an OT; although some reports said they planned to move that college OT to OG.

Tyron took a pay cut which means they were ready to move on if he didn't.

I think Stephen Jones was ready to move on from Tyron but the uncertainty about Steele's availability to start the season caused them to keep Tyron.

I don't understand playing Tyler at IG with Edoga at LT. Edoga was good at OG but bad at OT.

This would be a very good OL:
Tyler Smith
Edoga
Biadasz
Martin
Steele
