I thought that this was a really WR heavy draft. Can't believe we didn't make a move when the run for WRs started in the 4th.

He dropped 3 in a row.

Clear as day.

I think he threw those two away. But maybe he did drop them.

You're right. I'm blind.

Based on the way the balls are skittering away I don't think those were catches and releases. It seems to me like there are three straight drops.

I really liked that we didn't. I don't agree with those that think it was such a priority. We'll be fine at that position.

IMO if you want to worry, concern yourself with he OL. If Flozell isn't Flozell we're in trouble ... and that's a 50/50 proposition.

yeah, you were right and I was wrong. He's still known for having good hands but not that time. I hope he's not one of those players who gets tight on big plays and with pressure.

It's not like we're depending on the kid. I'd really like to get a smaller WR who is fast and has the quicks along with the hands yada. We haven't had a good KMartish player in awhile.

It is clear the first two are drops simply by the way he reacts with the arm flailing as the ball falls behind him. The last drop is pretty obvious.

I agree about Flo, it'll be interesting to see how Brewster comes along in camp.

Excuse the rant. Austin, Hurd, and Stanback were injured last year. Don't forget Roy has missed significant time in his career too. We still haven't been able to find a reliable route runner with great quickness since Terry Glenn blew his knee.

I agree that protecting him is important, but I think Romo hasn't had a WR he can rely on. Owens and Roy were notorious for running poor routes. Owens also had suspect hands. Austin was very raw. Crayton doesn't get much separation. Romo was at his best when he can trust the guy he's throwing to, thats why he and Witten are so tough to defend.

I just think the missing piece of this offense would be Terry Glenn circa 2006. A guy that runs crisp routes and can stretch the field. He was a nightmare to cover on double moves too. Our offense seems to be full of long striders and no one with any wiggle. I heard that Garrett like Eddie Royal and Higgens a lot. I wish we would've added someone from that mold in the middle rounds. Competition can't hurt, and Sherman is one of my favorite coaches on the staff.

We just always seem to be injury riddled at the WR position. Hurts when you don't draft for position either. We've had pretty good success drafting WRs, and I think you've got to take a few chances here and there. Makes me always wonder what might have been with Antonio Bryant.

He catches balls in the breadbasket a lot, if I'm not mistaken. He's definitely an athlete though.

I have watched him for the last two years at UVA. I have season tickets last two years and attended all home games. He is not apolished a receiver but had the home run capablility more so than anybody on their roster. The offense was more of a running style offense that relied on the tight end and short pass patterns. When UVA needed a big play or key reception the looked his way.

he is a playmaker that never had a good qb. he has a great chance of making the team.

That's very interesting. I just don't watch VA games even if I have lived there. He's an interesting talent. There's usually one of two low picks and even UDFAs who make a contribution each year.

Thanks for the post.

Anyone else find it amazing how the last wr spot on the team is always a controversial debate every year?
Remember...
The "Randall Williams" debate
Danny Amendola
Austin or Hurd
Now its Ogletree vs Hurd/Stanbeck...let the debate rage on!

Crayton is a Kmart he is great in the slot and when he has been his most productive. Crayton is more quick with solid speed. Yes he may talk to much but Crayton is this teams Kmart solid player that has produced for this team. Despite all the people that cry about him this team would be stupid to dump him unless he is causing major locker room issues.

A J-Dog sighting. What's up dude? I wish they would draft a couple WR's high that pan out and end this debate once and for all.
