ok so what do the cowboys see as the future for him? is he a wide out or a slot guy?

cause that has a lot of bearing on what we do at the position in the draft. if he is a slot guy bye bye mccluster or shipley or ford, we would need to get a guy like benn or roberts. but if he is an outside guy and we select a slot guy how do we get otree the ball? i dont see him taking roys spot this year unless roy completely melts down and drops like 9 balls in three games

He should be able to play either. He has the size and speed to play outside and the quickness to play the slot.

Depends if we draft a WR with a high draft pick. If not, I'd like to see him replace PC.

Honestly he could play slot right now, but really he can play both. I think ultimately he would be a very good slot receiver with a more physical receiver here as a #2.

To me he looks like an eventual replacement outwide as an X or Z.

I imagine he will eventually start for us if he stays focused.

Just look at his measurables and how he translates it on the field too.

I wish he would start right now instead of Roy. I'd trade Roy for a 5th round pick, and take a flyer on a young, oversized receiver who needs work. It at least rolls back the clock.

The sooner the Cowboys admit their mistake, the sooner they move on.

Ogletree is going to be one of the really, really good ones opposite Austin with Crayton in the slot. I would be on the edge of my seat every time the 3 wr set breaks the huddle. Ogletree has excellent work ethic, and dependable hands. His speed will someday give the Cowboys a performance similar to Austins' 250 yard day. The sooner they start Ogletree, the sooner that day will come.

Laufenberg said last year that Roy had trouble fending off Ogletree and that he fully expects for him to completely surpass him in year 2.

yeah but don't we have a prototype complex here in dallas? 6'3"
215 seems to be the minimum with glenn being the exception. maybe otree is the exception too i just wish i knew what the organization thought.

how crazy would it be to have an UDFA throwing to two UDFA out wide and producing though?

It seems like it but Romo is kinda like Peyton in the since that he does better with the great route runners at receiver.

Roy Williams is just a terrible fit here. He can only run 2 or 3 routes at a high level and his strength is making plays on the ball but Romo wont force passes and rarely gives his receivers a chance to make a play.

I will say this.

Babe Laufenburg said he is starting material and "has it"

Every player Babe has raved about has worked out like he said.

It is a very good sign.

i agree but that doesnt mean the organization realizes that or cares when they see that prototype with talent.

but TO wasnt a great route runner and romo did well with him. but that may just be a product of him being able to get open without great routes.

I just hope someone learns the correct routes and then we can move on to running them right.

I'm sure someone would come up with a great nickname for the new Triplets, all undrafted!!

TO may not have been a great route runner but he was as good as you can be at it without being extremely shifty.

can otree get off press coverage though? anybody a cavs fan that saw him in college

RW holds his own fate. I think Olgetree will take some of his snaps from the start and if RW doesn't produce he'll get more and more snaps. That doesn't mean we won't or shouldn't draft the best WR available irregardless of whether he's a wideout or slot WR.

I hope the better player starts this year.

Me too. Put the best guy on the field. They will most likely put him on the field because of his contract.

I just wonder how well Roy has to play for us not to cut him next offseason?

He's gonna have to play lights out, and he'll first have to start by learning the playbook.
