Your corpiration is on its own, it is not part of a LEAGUE. A league needs competitive balance. Competitive balance is part of what makes the NFL the #1 sports league in the world.
The reason the Steelers have no problem , is because of revenue sharing, take it away and they will turn into the Pirates, who have not won anything in over 20 years.
They didn't have much of a problem in the 70s and were competitive in the 80s and 90s so I doubt it. But think what you wish.

Maybe i'm old school but smart management and good coaching will solve any money problems a team can have. Revenue sharing just encourages lazyness in the league. Just like wellfare does in society. When was the last time Buffalo or Cleveland or Kansas City, San Fran, Oakland we're competitive? They get welfare and still suck and have for the better part of a decade. It's a joke!

Judging by that, they'd be closer to the bottom of the pack. I was wrong in thinking Cleveland would be up there, but all I gotta say is holy hell, the NFC East could form a league of its own.

I don't see any money problems there for the Steelers, ranked 18th in revenue and have won 2 of the last 4 SB's. Again money isn't the bottom line with them but yes it's important. Management and coaching is why they're successful. I'd trade their front office and coaching staff for ours.

I see your point, but I do think if you are not going to share revenue, than there has to be some type of cap in place, because if you are not going to share reveue or have a cap, then more than about 60% of the NFL teams would never even sniff the playoffs.

If this leads to him having the money, and room, to go out and get us some more talented defensive players to go with Ware, Brooking, Ratliff, and Jenkins so that we can actually win games in December then I'll be thrilled.

Maybe so but if you look at MLB there have been consistant small market teams in the playoff or in the hunt nearly every season. Twins, Marlins (not competitive every year but have won 2 WS in six year span), Tampa Bay, Colorado, St. Louis. But then you have teams like my A's who suck, but they lack a attractive venue to play at. Some small market teams find ways to make it work some don't. Some big market teams find ways to make it work some don't. I think there is this illusion that the Yankees win the WS every year but before this year the last time they won it was 2000 but they and the Red Sox outspend everyone else every single year. I have a feeling the NFL will be similar. Although granted MLB does do revenue sharing. I wouldn't have as much of a problem with a cap as I would revenue sharing. I guess I have a hatred for a robbing Peter to pay Paul kind of system.

Yup. Remember the defense we had in the early 90's? We'd be seeing that every year. I trust Jerry Jones without a salary cap. I really do. The present might not be so good for us, but the future sure is looking bright.

I know you want the Cowboys to spend like the Yankees and have teams like the Bengals, the Steelers and Cheifs be uncompetive for 20+ years. OK lets ruin fooball also. I do not understand how people do not want some type of restriction on spending. It is the NFL a LEAGUE, all these teams are in it together, when you have 3 or 4 teams that can spend more than 28 other teams, you have the haves and have nots. I think it can ruin the game, but that is just my humble opinion.
Erm, no I hate the Yankees and the way they do things. I hate the MLB.

I'm saying that there really isn't that much parity in the NFL nowadays. No more than in baseball or any other sport.

Teams like Stl, Detroit, and Cleveland are not even in the same league as teams like the Colts and Saints.
