I would have considered keeping Scott Fajita, especially if they are planning on moving "A-yo-de-le-hee-hoo" inside.

I think he got $12M for 4 years.

OK I'll play:

Adam Vinatieri, K ......What ever it takes

Now your turn:

since you're so busy moaning & complaining about about those that are moaning and complaining.

Please tell us who, and the salaries YOU would pay, to fill the holes on this team.

"Put up or shut up because it's getting old." I very seldom tell people to "Shut up"........I believe in feedom of speech. So here's your chance to practice what you preach

CBZ...I have to admit...my stomach is starting to turn a few knots because I have no clue of the Adam V. situation. Getting a top kicker could mean a difference of 2-3 wins...the way BP plays the game...we must have a top kicker.:banghead:

John Hall. Fits the bill as a solid kicker and won't cost 3 mil a year.

you know, this stance is about as annoying as the chicken littles.

it's the coaches and owners job TO get better players. TO find a way to pay them. TO make improvements where and when they can.

If snyder, who's team was in cap hell and rumored to not even be able to fill a roster due to cuts he'd have to make can go on the spending spree he's on, WE can find a way to fix the OL *IF* we really wanted to.

so i take it your stance is "no one is available for the price we wanna pay so we'll go into next year with what we had last year WHICH SUCKED but it's ok cause no sexy name was there for us at a bargain price"?

that won't get there either dude.

frustrating to hear chicken littles yes. even more frustrating to hear garbage like this when we have money, there ARE players out there we could have TRIED FOR but didn't.
And I repeat--Who woud you have signed?

I have a feeling we're getting the people we targeted. We acted on day 1 & 3 of FA--that's not "getting leftovers." Just because they're not the ones some on thie board want doesn't mean the team doesn't have a plan. There are a lot of mediocre players out there right now. So again, tell us who we should have signed that really will improve the team.

I'm one of those who have been complaining and I've seen nothing to change my mind. I did write a rather lengthy response earlier, but decided not to post it cause it too long. Then I went and read Titans had signed Mawae & got annoyed again.

None of us want Cowboys to spend a fortune to sign a few good or overrated players. But it looks to me like we being out maneuvered again just like 2004.

1. Many of us thought upgrade at center necessary; some did not. Well, you got your wish, Johnson & Gurode will fight it out again.
2. We must upgrade RT. Some thought Pettiti will miraculously be quality starter this year. You got your wish cause so far no new RT.
3. Some of us thought FS was a disaster & Parcells said it had to be upgraded. Well, those of you who think Davis will have great year & Beriaut will do well there too; you've got your wish cause no FS on horizon.
4. We all complained at PK, but none on horizon.
5. We concerned about WR cause of age & injuries/health. At this stage only hope is TO and that's a tragedy.

Who would I have liked for Cowboys to sign? Realistically, Brandon Lloyd of SF before Skins did, Mawae before Titans signed him, RT from Titans who Atlanta signed or Ashworth of NE, Longwell before Vikes signed him, Bryant before Tampa resigned him, etc. How about we talk to Packers about Javon Walker & see if realistic scenario can be worked out given his injury/rehab status, bitterness towards Packers & last year of his contract--but again another team will beat us to it.

Pretty smart of you to attempt make us come up with some of the names of players who've been signed, money they paid, etc. Why don't those of you who satisfied with what Cowboys have done so far tell us which players Cowboys should go after who are cheap (don't want to overspend do we) but who could really help us. Remember to leave out Vinatieri cause he isn't cheap, etc. Oh, and don't forget that great TE in Seattle (think name is Hammans) who Cowboys after; I know you want to include him.

i'd let larry go and make an effort for bentley or hutch. yes i know what's out there now, but you asked what i'd do. all the "but bentley wanted to go home..." is great and all and i'm sure he did - but near as i can tell we didn't even try. if you say useless then why was philly all out to sign him - at least they TRIED.

hutch. the vikes may have more room but then again the skins didn't have any and they've signed just about everyone and a $10mil kicker from this forum if i got the joke correctly yesterday.

it *can* be done *if* you want it bad enough.

i'm not saying that you must BUY the superbowl but then, so many think TO is going to get us there - that ain't buying it? it's damn sure selling out.

i'd explore the RFA's out there to see what we could get and maybe trade for. i'd talk to green bay about packing ellis and a 4th round pick for walker and hell, call my speedy wr problem fixed and go ahead and i'd work to keep keyshawn here because if *this* is the year we're going to make a run, keeping key players in key positions is critical.

i'd have hired a OL coach that's more qualified than what we have now.

i would IGNORE sleeper players on a weak FA list unless it was for depth but then i'd pay depth money, not starter. if bentley and hutch are a definate no-can-do then i hit the RFA list harder.

we know for a fact that drew needs one HELL of an OL yet we're not taking it seriously.

forgive me, that just means i can't take parcells seriously until he shows he can FIX THE OL that he knows he must have for his own choice at QB to succeed.

till then it's lip service to me and i'm amazed people suck it up.

Adam Vinatieri - anything he wants.

the rest i can wait on.

not paying KEY today's $1m will be the breaking point where JJ needs to step down from football operations however.

So I get two things from your post: a) that we haven't "tried" and b) you have no suggestions of what we should have done to offer- thus the thread title applies to you.

you always feel the need to categorize people?

my response to the post wasn't what *I* would do because that's pointless. like i said "what names are out there?" is a stupid argument ALONG WITH "the sky is falling!" ones.

the sky is not falling.
we've not been active in FA
to date we're a little bit worse than we were last year
yes there's still time
while people say you get "bargains" at the end of FA, there's a reason when spending millions of $$$, why you make the choices you do. it also sets the price for the position and can go against you in as much as for you. in the end this is the dallas freaking cowboys - can we quit looking for bargains to put the uniform on and let's get some PLAYERS?

and players cost money. we have it, they were some there, we didn't try regardless of the reasons why.

we didn't try for the top dog we need especially if allen is going now.

if noticing that the sky isn't as high as it used to be is a crime, forgive me. my hopes for this team are still up there, but not with bargain basement players and a refusal to address an OL critical to our success more than ever.

If posting your opinions is pointless, why pray tell do you hang out here?:laugh2: And why post in a thread soliciting your opinions if you don't care to give one?

As for categorizing you, I just read what you said. It didn't seem ambiguous. Did I misinterpret you? If so, how? No need to resort to your usual sarcasm defense.

How people can draw conclusions about what we are/or not addressing this offseason after 5 days is beyond me.

how about you read your 1st sentence of a reply to me, the last one, and we'll just let it go.

i hope i'm not the only one to see a contradiction here.

No, there isn't a contradiction. I can agree/disagree with what we've done so far without making assumptions about the entire FA/draft period. On the two signings so far I think we added useful players at fair prices. We still have other needs which I am confident we will address in time.

nah, just funny to me how you seem to be FOR people talking about their opinions online then a few sentences later you can't understand how people can talk about their opinions online simply because you see it differently.

THAT bit of irony i see escapes you. : )
