OK, Go get Ray Lewis...

That would be the biggest issue, IMO, to the idea of bringing leadership, film study, hardcore guys like Ray and Dawkins in here. Unless the FO and HC fully back, and support them, there would be no way that they'd be able to get their ways through to the players.

I honestly wouldn't mind the gamble though. What they bring to the table, not only on the field but off it in the offseason and film stuff, would be a big plus here if they could get the backing they'd need.

I agree if they back him up

Ray Lewis could be the Cowboys player known to have been linked to a street murder.
To those who say he was not convicted, I say one thing:

Neither was O.J. Simpson, but both were found with blood splatters on their clothes IN their homes.

sigh

I love Ray. It's true he's near the end of his career but he's one of the most respected and feared players in the NFL. It would be nice to have him in our locker room and let the young guys see how he approaches the game.

That's right on. The Raven's definitely have an "approach" to football that has been in recent years and continues to remain almost unique. A killer instinct almost. And that's been through different HCs and DCs, the only one real constant really being Lewis.

I am all for this move if it happens. I want our defense strutting around like a Ravens defense! And I can't think of any other player in the league that could bring such an immediate lockerroom/huddle impact like that which Ray would bring.

Imagine some of that "killer instinct" rubbing off on Ware? The NFL would have to hire in-game staff just to sew heads back on. And that's if Lewis didn't jab them on a stakes and parade em around first. Lol.

The ravens are going to let him test the market. It's obvious we need his leadership and fire. If we are serious about locker room chemistry then Jerry's plane will be their to throw on the full court press the minute free agency begins. Get it done Jerry!!!!!

Is he gonna be the GM?

Read it. Two men dead. A Street brawl. An orchestrated cover up. "Keep your mouth shut." Limo getaways and bloodstains on his clothes and at home. Evidence that disappeared.

Bad.

This proposal to bring someone in who WAS NOT CONVICTED but yet was allowed to plea bargain is, to put it mildly, odorous and distasteful.

This offering makes me want to puke. Makes me appreciate that this heartless and unmotivated team has, at least, no record of street fatalities and no plea bargains to avoid a murder rap.

Bring him in. The world has gone mad.

I am just telling you how it is.
No disrespect though it hardly seems thus. Sorry.

Bring in Ray to fill the Zach Thomas void

What was that quote about doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. . . .?

I'd take him for two years just for his presence. Even on the sidelines he can be the emotional leader this team so desperately needs. I think he still has 2 good years left in him at.

Zach Thomas had 65 tackles and 30 assists, not pro bowl numbers, but not what I would call "unproductive" either. Zach did what he was brought in to do, be a stop gap, until Carp could possibly develop. Well, that doesnt seem to be happening. I guess if Ray is brought in, than the FO, and coaching staff still have faith in Carp working his way into a starting role.
If you dont think Ray Lewis would improve the productivity level at that position, than you havent seen alot of Ravens football.

I think Zach played quite well the first half (roughly) of the season and then he tailed off dramatically. Either he lost steam or our opponents figured out how to deal with him. He was flying all over the field for the first 5 or 6 games.

I can't stand Ray Lewis.

Dude should be in jail.

I know it's hard to imagine, but some of our fans are dumber than Jerry.

Signing Ray Lewis might be the straw that broke the camels back for me.

I agree, age has a way of creeping up on players quickly when its finally time to hang it up. One thing than can never be denied about Thomas is his heart and determination. The guy played with a high motor his entire career..

Not to change the context of this thread, but I would prefer a Carlos Dansby all day over Ray Lewis, but the OP was about Ray Lewis.
Something to keep an eye on this offseason is how the Cards deal with their top FAs'.
They have alot of cap tied up in their WR's, and to transition Dansby might mean they cant keep Warner.
Not sure what Dansbys price would be if not tagged, but probably higher than Lewis, considering his age.

If the Cowboys were to sign Ray Lewis, I'd wish the team ill as long as he were on the roster.

Just when I thought it wasn't possible for the franchise to get any lower....

To say nothing of the lunacy of giving a guy his age $10M a year.

He sticks his tongue out when he plays, so that stuff is forgiven.

Would rather have Bart Scott, but he is gonna get a huge deal.

Would also rather have their safety Dawan Landry, which they aren't going to let go.

That sounds nasty.

Thats the first thing this thread reminded me of... what is Zack's status? Coming back for another go of it with us?

He will command/demand instant respect and accountability.

I just think he will provide this team with what it lacks; a drive to win and a leader to set an example of how to play the game. Ray is still a beast at LB so bringin in that talent along with those other things would be a win-win IMO.
