we wouldn't be able to sign him until week 10 I think. Maybe Jerruh could slide him some money under the table to not sign with anyone else.

Ouch!

I didn't know it was that long a wait.

Not sure what else we can do then.

To make matters worse, If Akers from Philly doesn't get healthy soon, don't be suprised if they take our Practice Squad kicker.

I think we beat them to it.Cortez gets a pink slip.Btw,the snap was
bad on that extra point.

I think Larry Allen eats him on the way home on the plane. If I were Cortez, I would lock myself in the airplane's bathroom until we landed. But what do I know?

No such luck, they're not flying back. I think he will have to hide out somewhere else.

Wasn't their a kicker that missed several kicks in one game,
and Jimmy not only cut him,but didn't let him get on the plane.

Not safe enough. Find a different plane.

Actually I know we are staying on the west coast this week but you know what I mean.

As much as I dislike Cortez, that botched xtra point wasn't entirely his fault.

...anyway, has that kid Todd France signed w/ anyone?

We rue the day Cundiff is not our kicker....

Hopefully JJ gave him a huge bag of cash not to answer the phone and comeback for us week 10....

Ugh. Why does everyone keep trying to give Cortez a stay of execution because of the snap? I watched it on Tivo three times. The snap was bad, the hold was fine, and in place in plenty of time for an NFL kicker to convert a kick from the 2-yd-line. The "messed-up timing" thing doesn't fly on an extra-freaking point. Hopefully, LA finished putting his outsides on his insides and it will be a moot point.

The snap was putrid. They haven't been good for the last couple of games. I recall it being a problem on the last punt of the Commander game. We were up 13-7 and punting. McBriar had to field a tricy hop.

Larry *was* going to eat Cortez, that's why this post is so funny. If you didn't see it, Larry was like "Just make the damn kick" and giving Cortez the evil eye. I bet Cortez threw in a little extra prayer after he made that one.

Have I missed something? Isn't Cortez's kickoffs way better than Cundiff's?

I disagree. It's purely a timing play. Snap. Hold. Kick. We are tallking fractions of a second here. It's really tough to get a kick up when you are forced to stop, stutter step, and then kick.

I'm not a fan of Cortez's per se, but at this stage, I think I am more concerned with the deep snapping. It will cost us dearly if it's not addressed soon.

I agree at this point that I do miss Cundiff, I never liked the Cortez signing. I cant figure out how is kickoffs are so unpredictable. 8 yds deep in the endzone and the next is at the 10 yd line. What the hell?????

Anyways time to move on from the Cortez experiment and try someone else. After all do you want this guy on the field at the end of the season when the playoffs are on the line. NOT ME!
