Out of curiosity, what do you think our odds are of running the table and finished 12-4? Now, before anyone flies off the handle, I am not predicting this. I want you to stop, look at each game and think about whether it is winnable or not, and then make an assumption of odds based upon your thoughts.

I will go first.

vs. Dolphins
@ Cardinals
vs. Giants
@ Buccaneers
vs. Eagles
@ Giants

Okay, I predicted we would finish 11-5 and I am sticking with this prediction. The losable game amongst these to me is the finale. I say this despite the fact we have not beaten the Giants in our new house. I believe we will this year. I have a feeling the Giants will be reeling when we get to that game. Their next couple are brutal and their last 2 have been heartbreaking.

I therefore put the odds at 6 to 1. Or, one chance in 6 to pull it off. Not good odds, but fun to think about.

If they finish 11-5, that means divison crown, Eagles dead and a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. That is what I want.

I predicted (IIRC) 10-6 or 11-5. I think 10-6 is the more likely scenario, but we still win the division due to Giants losing 3 more games including the one against us in Cowboys Stadium. I think we lose in NY and possible @ TB.

vs. Dolphins - should be a win
@ Cardinals - should be a win
vs. Giants - tough, but at home we should win
@ Buccaneers - should be a win
vs. Eagles - we should win at home
@ Giants - not likely, but possible win

I see us going 6-1 down the stretch with an outside shot at running the table.

I had us at 11 - 5 as well and I am sticking with that. We are actually at the record I thought we would be after 10 games.

I like our chances to run the table, I really do. My thought process to get us to 11-5 was Lose at the Jets, NE and split the division games. We lost to the lions but swept the skins to get us back to where I thought we would be. I still think the game in the meadow lands is going to be tough, esp if by chance we have the division already wrapped up, very likely IMO. So I still think we will lose that game but I would give us a 50/50 shot at winning out.

I would put our odds of running the table at 25%.

I personally think we will finish 10-6. I expect a loss at the Giants and after what Philly did to us the first time I'm plugging in a loss there as well. Philly just looked too fast for us...Our defense seems to have trouble against faster, quicker guys and Philly is loaded with them.

Just given the way things have gone for them, I see two losses in there. Since that gives 3 different scenarios of not running the table, I guess I'm saying the odds would be 18/1.

I predicted 10-6 but I think 11-5 is possibility.

@ Cardinals - win

@ Giants - loss

the last three games bother me----if we show up we can go 2 for 3--the Giants game on the road in bad weather means we must have a running game going to win this. It could be for the division crown too.

The eagles and bucs are winnable.

Winning out would mean we would finish the season on a 9 game winning streak. Highly unlikely, but it can be done. I think a lot of it depends on how healthy we get/stay the rest of the year. I also think a lot of it depends on where some of the teams we play the rest of the way are when we meet them. If the Eagles and Bucs are already out of the running for any shot at the playoffs, the games will be less difficult. Same can be said for the Giants the last game of the year. Really too many intangibles to say at this point, but I'm just glad we're in the positionn to have this type of discussion.

Assuming we get by the Dolphins, which I expect we will, I think it's a 25% chance we win out. In honesty, I think we lose our last two (Philly and @NYG), but will already have clinched the division so we will be resting/playing conservatively. Catch a break in the first playoff game and roll on to title #6!!

we can certainly go undefeated from here however I have 2 thoughts in this regard:

1) i agree that we can (and hopefully will) beat the gmen in our building but am worried about the last game and about the philly game because the ease with which the skins moved the ball agaisnt us doing exactly what philly did (in-routes to midfield and the flat) they can do again unless we learn from it.

of course we might be resting some people in the last game since we might not have a bye and might have everything clinched.

2) this team does not do well as a front runner so it might be better for them to go to the playoffs 'fighting' (as long as they make it). garrett may have managed to change that culture by the end of the year but i havent seen it yet.

We'll split with the Giants. Im actually expecting to lose @ home but beat them in NY.

It seems like the Giant's always play great in Dallas and we play great up there.

I don't feel good about Philly either for some reason.

If we run the table leading to the Giants game in New York (week 17), there's a possibility that the Cowboys wouldn't be able to advance their seeding, so we could rest our players if we have the division wrapped up and seeding cannot be advanced. It would be a nice little BYE week to get players healthy. I hope we get Detroit in the playoffs. Revenge time!!!

The Cowboys haven't won 8 games in a row in 20 years, and that team was lightyears better than this one.

Less than 1%.

You bring up a really solid point about resting our guys that last game.

Indeed, I would love to pummel them and really wipe it in Schwartz's smug *** face.

All games are winnable. This team could probably go 16-0.

The problem?

Inconsistency.

We really need the Giants to lose these next two games (NO and GB), then we beat them in Dallas, which would basically give us a 3 game lead with three games to go. The Giants (6-7) would have to lose one more game out of the remaining three for us (9-4) to clinch the division. We could actually clinch the division by Tampa Bay, but this is unlikely because the Giants play the Commanders at home. The following week the Giants play @ the Jets, which would be our best bet to clinch the division if they lose, and we take care of business at home against the Eagles. I just want that Week 17 game to be meaningless.

EDIT: Nevermind, we can clinch the division by Tampa Bay regardless of what the Giants do, assuming NY loses to GB, NO and in Dallas. Getting that 10th win would give us the NFC East.

Same here. He's such a classless tool.
