I agree but I still don't understand the LG talk. As much as the cowboys have struggled at LG over the past few years, they have never put La El there. There are 2 problems on the left side. First and most important is the health of Tyron Smith. The second was ConnorM and his penalties. Connor is gone and its going to be a whole lot easier and cheaper to find a new LG than a new RT of Collins caliber.
I think LG move is just fanfare.I don’t think Dallas would even ask him.He was paid to play tackle.Dallas already has problems getting movement on Dline at LG and center for lack of power.Losing Lael would not help that as he’s a powerful player.Steele, while agile, isn’t powerful and doesn’t get “push.”Run game will be even worse unless somehow Moore schemes run game better.

Zion Johnson would seem to fit the bill as well.

If I'm not mistaken he can play all five spots.

Seems iffy that Green makes it to 24.

I think he will be. Lots of T, DEs, WRs, CBs will go ahead of him. G, DT, C, LB are always lower priority for teams at top of draft

Ball and Farniok get forgotten. I agree. I think either can fill a need. Farniok has played some center as well.
I liked what I seen with Farniok
Ball has talent but with him it’s about is he ready to go all in on football

After watching the combine I would be very happy if Zion Johnson was the pick. To me he looks like the best interior offensive lineman in the draft. He would be an upgrade over Connor Williams or Tyler Biadasz.

Green did not seem as athletic or powerful as Johnson.

I don’t see Smith or Martin going anywhere anytime soon. Smith has a decent contract and Martin is all pro

Biadasz is on a rookie deal. Steele is your at RT who is also on a rookie deal.

LG will be upgraded but I wouldn’t expect much more.

We have Ball on the bench to groom at Tackle

Too many uncertainties and another one that is destined to miss a number of games, if not the entire season.

The OL coach may not be too enamored with Collins anyway, while pushing FO for full support of his pet project.

Frankly i'm ready to get over the McCarthy influence.

Rebuild the OL two years lateral.
We need LBs DLs and WR too.
The team is rebuilding mode

Lol they aren’t rebuilding. Lawrence isn’t going anywhere and we will see about Coop.

As of today, this team needs a WR, LG, RDE, MLB, S.

Free agency and the draft will plug a few of those

Actually, the team is fielding calls for him. Jerry and Stephen aren't calling around the league begging for a trade. Collins is in demand if he's available. Might be the dumbest move of an incredibly dumb off season so far.

Why is it an incredibly dumb off-season so far? It has not begun yet. In spite of all the rumors, nothing good or bad has happened.

Well, bringing back Noah Brown is good, it certainly is not horrible.
Keeping Kellen Moore is not horrible. Certainly not good.

So it is 1 to 1 for now. :muttley:

Oline needs to be rebuilt....

you cant keep either McGovern or Williams as a starter..one has issues blocking and the other can block actually quite well but is good for killing 1 or 2 drives per game

you give Biadasz one more year to become a legit center

you need to look for Smiths replacement

Zion is really just a Guard only, tried Center at the Senior Bowl and had some struggles, but it was his 1st time playing the position. Actually glad Green had an average combine, as it increases our chances to draft him.

Yeah, Green is the best guard prospect in my opinion for what the Cowboys do. Maybe trade down a little bit and get him in late 20s.
Can't trade down and assume he is there. Heard a rumor this morning that Tyler Smith won't make it out of the 1st rd. If Green is there you take him, unless a pass rusher falls in our laps.

I like Steele, but he’s no Lael and needs to improve his strength.
1st of all, we aren't talking about Collins a few years ago, but the one who has had hip surgery and has missed the last year an a half. His play this season wasn't that much better then Steele at the position. Considering his price tag, makes sense to see if you can get something before it's too late.

Thought he played some LT at BC but I could be mistaken....or maybe he doesn't project there at the next level.

Green would seem to be the ideal OL pick but I have doubts that he makes it to 24.

most likely a reshuffle is correct don't forget Farinok as possible Center to push Biadsz and maybe the loser of the center battle is the new LG..why not

LT(Smith)- C-(TB/Farinok)- LG-(farinok/TB)-RG-(Martin)-LT-(Steele)

Ball swing tackle, McGovern swing G/C I dont remember the depth guys from last year outside of those mentioned but can grab mid rounder inthe draft or vet to do that.

they have all offseason to get a good feel on need for the OL but seems to me we have most on this roster..

Pff had him graded above 80 which is pretty solid.

Both are being projected as Guards on the next level. Believe Green has better positional flex and can play in any scheme, some compare him to Ronald Leary.
