The LG and C are absolutely expendable. Steele starts at RT. I’d try to grab a veteran G and draft Linderbaum in the 1st.
You're probably right, but I still think it's our biggest need. If we don't upgrade, I hope he has a great off seasonThe best Center has lack of size, strength, short arms and can only play in a zone system. His tape is good, but many believe he is either going to be great or a real bust. The drop off after him is big, maybe won't see another Center taken until late day 2, if not day 3. They don't have the funds to sign a high level fa starter at the position. Far more easier to find an impact Guard.
C is youngYesterday we heard that the team is trying to trade La'el Collins and also heard there are whispers about Tyron starting to decline. We already know they need a new starting LG and might like to upgrade the Center position.
I am confident that they will draft a plug and play LG, but will they start an rebuild this offseason for our line that is aging, less productive? Perhaps double dip in this area?
Outside of Martin, nothing is certain, even Tyron.C is young
RG is in his prime
RT is young
LG will be young or a FA
RT is still above average and cheap, but may be replaced in next 2-3 years
I don’t see any rebuild needed. Even if we upgrade at C soon, that’s not a rebuild.
My hope is to find an upgrade at LG and add legitimate competition at the Center position. Make Biad. earn his spot and be the best option to start. You're probably right, but I still think it's our biggest need. If we don't upgrade, I hope he has a great off season
I know the Jets wanted him in the trade discussions for Jamal Adams two years ago. Hell I would put a package of Cooper, Collins, Brown for Williams and 1 of their 2nd rd picks. Not for one that has played like trash, been suspended for substances and has been injured. Hope I am wrong.
What was his injury last year? Wasn't it an ankle sprain, and they stashed him on IR? I don't remember him having an injury history.Ball has 1st or 2nd round talent, but can he stay healthy and out of trouble
Yes, an ankle.IR most of the year.Basically a redshirt year to get him acclimated to NFL life.He has talent, so hopefully we can find out what he can do this year. What was his injury last year? Wasn't it an ankle sprain, and they stashed him on IR? I don't remember him having an injury history.
According to PFF they were.Wait, I read here that our O line was the best in the league...
I don’t think the Jets would do that.I know the Jets wanted him in the trade discussions for Jamal Adams two years ago. Hell I would put a package of Cooper, Collins, Brown for Williams and 1 of their 2nd rd picks.
Wishful thinking, hahaI don’t think the Jets would do that.
I'll wager anyone an adult soda that Linderbaum not only makes it to 24 but we pass on him.https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id...e-highest-paid-center-nfl-new-14-million-deal
Maybe Tyler linderbaum makes it to us...
This has not been discussed but Tyron doesn’t seem to “move” like he used to. I could see the Cowboys drafting Tyron’s replacement in as high as the first round if the grade is there.I don’t see Smith or Martin going anywhere anytime soon. Smith has a decent contract and Martin is all pro
Biadasz is on a rookie deal. Steele is your at RT who is also on a rookie deal.
LG will be upgraded but I wouldn’t expect much more.
We have Ball on the bench to groom at Tackle
Ball and Farniok get forgotten. I agree. I think either can fill a need. Farniok has played some center as well.
Zion Johnson would seem to fit the bill as well.
If I'm not mistaken he can play all five spots.
Seems iffy that Green makes it to 24.
