I think he will be. Lots of T, DEs, WRs, CBs will go ahead of him. G, DT, C, LB are always lower priority for teams at top of draft
The draft always has it surprises.

Even the very hyped David DeCastro made it to pick 24 in his draft.

I do feel like teams don't shy away from interior OL with premium picks the way they used to after the impact guys like Martin and Nelson have made.

Green is getting plenty of hype.

It's a predominantly offensive, passing league these days, and you've gotta keep your QB upright and healthy. I think he goes 15-20 but JMO.

Pretty solid for 10 million is a big price tag, especially he missed so much time the last two seasons.
Availability is one of the best abilities.I like Steele’s agility, but gets pushed back often(ala CW and TB.)I want some power on the line.Martin often had to help out Steele, but not Lael who is strong as a bull.As far as solid olineman go, 10 million is not bad for tackles.
2021 final pff grades:
Collins 82
Steele 64.5
Of course Dallas likes to settle for mediocrity.

Can't trade down and assume he is there. Heard a rumor this morning that Tyler Smith won't make it out of the 1st rd. If Green is there you take him, unless a pass rusher falls in our laps.
I have seen mock drafts were Green is not drafted until the 2nd round. Smith sounds like the Cowboys pick. Jeff Cavanaugh and Helman will have a heart attack.

I agree but I still don't understand the LG talk. As much as the cowboys have struggled at LG over the past few years, they have never put La El there. There are 2 problems on the left side. First and most important is the health of Tyron Smith. The second was ConnorM and his penalties. Connor is gone and its going to be a whole lot easier and cheaper to find a new LG than a new RT of Collins caliber.

Actually the Cowboys moved Collins to inside LG, the minute he came here as an undrafted rookie in 2015.
They had hang ups about his not ideal arm length. Ditto with Williams who also was a former stand out college OT.

What change the dynamics was sudden retirement of Doug Free and the failure of Chaz Green forcing the Cowboys to move
Collins to RT. The rest has been history since.

Yesterday we heard that the team is trying to trade La'el Collins and also heard there are whispers about Tyron starting to decline. We already know they need a new starting LG and might like to upgrade the Center position.

I am confident that they will draft a plug and play LG, but will they start an rebuild this offseason for our line that is aging, less productive? Perhaps double dip in this area?
Center is our biggest need....

What Oline? It they get rid of LC they’ll have a probowl RG, no LG, backup level players at Center and Right tackle and a shell of a former pro bowler at left tackle that they’ll be lucky if he plays 8 games.

there are some good guards in this draft.
if they trade collins...steele takes that spot.
i wonder if they are looking at a ot at 24...the eventual replacement for tyron.
bernhard raimann,central michigan.
trevor penning,northern iowa.
with wr and de also in their scope...there is alot of intrigue with this 24th pick.
it'll be fun to watch how and what they do.

Seems to be a lot going on with the possible trade of Collins and Cooper. Somehow would not be surprised to see Lawrence and Smith traded also for the right offer. Trading Collins doesn't seem like a bad idea if you get a good pick for him because actually Steele at RT did a better job, imo. Even Smith would be okay if they believe Ross can handle the LT position like he was supposedly draft to do.

Seems like the Ravens have been rumored to want Smith and looking at the free agent LTs, there really is only one guy that is going to be a factor. Sure the 3 or 4 guys expected to go 1st round make sense but we know what the odds are there also.

Can't see them trading Lawrence unless we have Gregory resigned and someone like Fowler is really coming to Dallas or even a Von Miller. Just had to believe Dallas would spend big on Miller. It would be interesting though.

Little fact for every fan though, if Dallas did trade or release Collins/Cooper/Smith/Lawrence it would mean $30 million in cap space this year but it would mean $83.6 million cap space in 2023. Interesting!!!

Clearly the bigger issue is within the interior, but his play has declined since they move away from that power scheme under Columbo.

Left Guard has no starter on the roster.
Wanted to ask you.....

I'm not quick to invest even more capital into the OL, but we do need a starter....

Can we find one of those later on that can be trusted? Not sure on that.

I'm think somewhere within our top 2 picks, might stretch to the third, but it's kind of like corner for us last yr.
