Couldn't be better. Cool breeze coming down the mountain...clear blue sky...bluebirds eating bananas on the back veranda...thinking about taking the dogs for a swim in a cool mountain stream about 200 meters from here. How about that!!

Truly paradise, Haley. Nothing like life out here in LA LA land. You don't wanna see our streams... usually caused by drunks at 2:00am :D

California is also very beautiful and has plenty of very natural places. Los Angeles? Well, its a big city..no hope in a big city.

I hike all over the greater Southern California, lots of gorgeous places, Haley. Tho, it is drying up and becoming much less greaner, unless you go coastal or north.

I was speaking of the City, like you highlighted :)

Sam, what is that?? Is that some sort of Richter scale?

Nope, it's a radio wave waterfall. In the image, you see the 14.195 mhz frequency. That is the 20 meter radio band (how long the wavelength is at 14 mhz) and that is a huge swath of bandwidth being monitored. Using a waterfall like that helps show a radio operator know where (exactly what frequency) someone might be transmitting so you can quickly tune in and listen / talk to the person.

EDIT: The peaks you see are current radio waves at a specific frequency. The colors beneath it are a history of what was recently recorded radio waves (a waterfall history chart of sort)

I got my FCC license back in 2014, but mostly stuck with UHF / VHF (Ultra High Frequency / Very High Frequency) which is mostly local (seveal miles and up to 50+ with the use of a repeater). I just recently purchased my first HF (just High Frequency) radio which allows communications world wide by bouncing the radio waves off the ionosphere.

I hope you don't really drink beer at breakfast.

A Bloody Mary or Mimosa maybe:D

I drink Bloody Mary's in Vegas when I've been going 20+hrs and need something with some weight to it in my belly, and to ease off the jitters of being up so long. Advil and a Bloody Mary is wonderful for such times. Mimosa only a few times at brunch, not my favorite :)

Beer for breakfast is my OJ :)

Yeah. I rarely have a Mimosa. I'll have a Bloody 1-2 times a month though.
Can't say I ever drink beer early in the morning...not since maybe beach weekends in my 20s.
