Old Wounds

Or the apology from fans for not understanding that at such high levels, in intense games between talented teams, it will often time come down to a play or two either way, and those plays CAN ABSOLUTELY be bad calls from officials that push the game the other way.

Yes. When the home team fails to play close to the level they did during the season and makes dumb mistakes throughout the game, it does come down to bad calls

are you saying we lost cause of the refs?

Do you have a learning disability that keeps you from reading what I wrote?

That could be part of it. It could also be that the Giants went on a tear and played at a much higher level than they had in the regular season.

Neither of those things change the fact that the calls in question were (a) incorrect, or bad calls and (b) had an enormous impact on the result of the game.

And none of that changes the fact that we failed to execute thereby putting us in a position where a bad call tipped the scales.

you're name is very fitting. sounds like you're using the bad calls as an excuse.

Reeves forgetting how to cover ... bad call?
Picking singular reasons only make people look stupid or shallow. There were a bunch of reasons why the Cowboys lost the game. It would have been nice if all those reasons were within the Cowboys control, instead of also being things like atrocious calls that had a big impact.

Now where's the apology for the heinous personal foul call on Leonard Davis?

THAT'S the one I'm talking about

See, now this is the type of thread I was sure this little blurb would cause. Old wounds indeed. :)

That's the point that some blockheads on this site will never never ever get through their thick skull.

We got blanked on two critical calls that had a huge impact on the game.

come on. to say that each team played so flawlessly to the point where 1 bad call determined the outcome is just ridiculous.

just doesn't happen.

Reeves never knew how to cover to begin with.

actually he played well at the start of the year -- very well in fact.

Bunch of reasons yes. Can you honestly say we "should" have won though? We didn't get jobbed so much by the refs than by our own poor play

He never played "very well". Ever.

He was a serviceable stopgap who did more than anyone thought he would.

DeMarcus Ware wasn't offsides, either.
Ugh. Don't remind me. Didn't the Giants score right after that instead of punting like they should've?

Temo, mission accomplished.

No, spiking the ball the stop the clock does not entail avoiding a tackle. So it isn't grounding.

Are you that loudmouth at the sports bar who always drunkenly shouts "grounding!!!!!" whenever someone spikes it to stop the clock?
It's a pass not thrown at a wide receiver from in the pocket that doesn't cross the line of scrimmage...I guess I could be wrong but I'm like 90% sure that's grounding.
