Yeah, that's why PFF totally got it wrong against Connor Williams. I bet you gobbled up their bunk and demanded the Cowboys get rid of Connor Williams? Look who's right now?

Still waiting for you to show any posts you made during free agency saying Dallas should have paid Wiliams 7m a year. I didn't hate Connor Williams...pretty much supported him throughout as an average G that had some significant weaknesses. In a COwboys FB group I am in I was the one to always defend him, but to ignore the penalties and the whiffs that came EVERY game is ridiculous. He wasn't worth giving a second contract to. Much rather be having a young, cheap guy fill the spot. Farniok hasn't been great but he does show some potential. McGovern will be coming back soon. Connor Williams would have made no difference in Dallas.

But keep crowing that we made such an awful decision. The Connor Willaims that was in Dallas for 3-4 years still had the same issues when he left that he had when he came in.

I will say the Oline, with the setbacks, has looked way better than I anticipated. Has it been perfect? Obviously not, but it's been good. I do agree with the camp that thinks we should leave Tyler Smith at LT and continue his development there.

Last season, that was also a big reason Cooper Rush had a nice game against Minnesota. They weren't quite as good against the Bengals, but that should be a testament to how well Rush played, getting rid of the ball on time and making smart decisions.

I'm not going to look it up for you. $7 mil/year is a great deal for a starting Olineman. Connor Williams could have moved to cover Left Tackle once Tyron Smith got injured this year, or covered Center or any of the Guard positions. The Dolphins saw what I saw in him, and now they are reaping the rewards for cheap. It's not my fault you don't have the Oline experience to have the insight to have seen Connor Williams' potential. You one of many.

As for Farniok, he definitely has the potential and is making quick improvements from week to week starting at Left Guard. In my opinion, it would be a big mistake to bench him at this moment. Cowboys should leave him starting at Left Guard as long as he keeps improving, while leaving Tyler Smith starting at Left Tackle. Leave Peters as backup ready to come in if absolutely needed. The more experienced both Farniok and Smith get starting next to each other, right now, especially against weaker teams like the Giants and Commanders, the better it will help them, this Oline and this Offense down the road as the season moves along.

This. Give him the reps now, so that he can learn, improve and become a force on the left side.

i'm leaning towards Tyler staying at LT.. He would be that much ready and cemented as our immediate starter in 2023.

Tyron is a near future HOF'er for sure. ...but he's not gonna even make it to start a season ... "Availability " as Jerry said in his first press conference

We've moved on from prominent big name players before .. Aikman, Emmitt, Sanders, .Dez, DWare ..etc.
Tyron should not be any different ...

I'm going put the bulk of blame with whiffing on CW on Philbin rather than PFF.

Sorry, bro. PFF (owned by Chris Collingsworth and followed by at least 14 NFL teams) is as much to blame as Philbin and the Cowboys. They both got it wrong...BIG TIME. This makes me believe the Cowboys are one of those teams who listen to the ratings PFF puts out.

Yeah but PFF didnt choose to play CW at LG instead of center.

Philbin did that.

I understand, but PFF was constantly badly rating him last season which I thought they were way off just like they are doing now to Matt Farniok.

CW grade was bad due to umpteenth holding penalties and playing out of position.

That's on Philbin, not PFF.

And I really hate having to defend PFF because their numbers can be screwy, but the blame for f'ing up on Connor Williams evaluation and use lies squarely on Philbin.

I totally disagree. PFF is doing the same thing against Farniok.

Or, hear me out... Connor is in a better suited position, improved from last year, and hasn't had the penalties..

Farniok, who may end up being a solid starter in the future, still needs another off-season.

He has not been as good as you are trying to portray. He's been a bit better in run blocking but well below league average in pass protection.

I disagree. Like I asked of @CowboyRoy , name the bad plays.
