Interesting. I wonder how they got their numbers?
Football Outsiders have the Cowboys Oline ranked much differently:
3rd best in power run blocking, and 7th best in pass protection...

Our QB's have been sacked 12 times so far. That's tied for 2nd fewest in the NFL (if the stats I looked at are up to date, which I believe they are). Chargers have given up 10, Dallas and Jax have given up 12. Everyone else has more. I don't know what metrics those guys are using, but they're definitely misleading.Burrow would love to have our awful offensive line, lol. Between Dak and Rush, there’s at least 20+ quarterbacks that have been sacked more than our guys combined
are you sure you dont have that backwards? https://thelandryhat.com/2022/01/06/4-cowboys-pff-top-free-agent-rankings-gallup-gregory/ according to this article he was a solid run blocker but not great a pass protection. the guy had 15 penalites in 2021 and most of those were holding on passing plays.
Not sure how you can say he was darn good in pass pro while he was here. If there was a breakdown in the middle, it was usually him.
He did start the season well for Miami at center. I haven't watched their recent games nor checked the stats. If he proves himself a good center, it does pose questions as why our coaches couldn't get it out of him.
Aaah, that makes sense. Thanks for the clarification. Judging our Oline as one of the very worst in the league, in general, for failing to hold their blocks for a minimum of 2.5 seconds is something I totally agree with. Our Oline definitely has to get so much better. If they did, I truly believe our passing game would improve much more since our pass plays usually are deeper routes or take longer to develop to get a receiver open. They judge pass rate by being able to sustain your block for 2.5 seconds without being beaten. If you can hold at least that long then that’s a success. Get beaten quicker than that and it’s a loss. Apparently our olinemen lose in less than 2.5 seconds more than everyone else in the league?
Cowboys should have never let Connor Williams go. They groomed him for another team like the Dolphins to profit. I heard Connor Williams is ranked in the top 3 of all Centers so far this 2022 season. Huge mistake by the Cowboys.Williams’ pass-protection numbers are elite. According to Pro Football Focus, he coughed up only 13 pressures on 569 pass-blocking snaps in 2021. That’s a pressure rate of just 2.28%, ranking third-best among qualified guards behind only Joe Thuney (1.99%) and Kevin Zeitler (2.20%).
He allowed only one pressure on 326 non-true-pass-set reps in 2021. That’s a pressure rate of 0.31%, the best in the NFL among 66 qualified guards.
Although executing pickups is the best part of his pass-blocking game from a statistical standpoint, Williams is still great in one-on-one situations. He allowed a pressure rate of 4.94% on true pass sets, ranking sixth-best among qualified guards.
Williams earned a zone-blocking grade of 76.1 at PFF in 2021, ranking 17th out of 59 qualified guards.
- 2018: 6.26% allowed pressure rate, 56.7 PFF run-block grade
- 2019: 4.93% allowed pressure rate, 60.8 PFF run-block grade
- 2020: 4.06% allowed pressure rate, 71.3 PFF run-block grade
- 2021: 2.28% allowed pressure rate, 76.0 PFF run-block grade

Good thing Tyron is coming back. The line is getting better but Tyler and Steele has had some busts. McGovern and Badacz have been average at best. To be honest Martin has not been dominant and Peters looks 40. Still a top 10 line though. Wait until you see the mess the Packers have. The best part of the line is that they appear to have good chemistry. I just want to see a healthy Tyron and Tyler left side along with Martin/Steele right side.
He has been good. Amazing would mean All-Pro. Let’s not get carried away.More lies. Biadasz has been amazing. Taken the next step no question.

I would agree. We have a top 10 offensive line. He's been amazing considering all the BS people said about him. He has taken the next step and been one of the rocks of the Oline. Him and Martin.
He now has to be considered a top 10 center in the NFL.

I’m not exactly sure how this is calculated but I think it’s underrated the Cowboys O-line if it’s suggesting we are the worst pass blocking team in the NFL.

You’re right about sacks not always telling the whole story, but stats don’t either…which was kind of the whole point. We have the 5th lowest number of pass attempts in the NFL at 237. The Chargers have the third most at 351. Context is critical.
We give up a sack approx every 20 pass attempts. The Chargers give up one every 35 pass attempts. Still think the stat is misleading?
Update: Just checked pro football reference and we are 6th in sack% which is very good. The Chargers’ sack numbers are out of this world good. So our sack numbers are good but that doesn’t always tell the whole story.
Not even closeThey are definitely not the worst pass blocking team.
These numbers are so wrong it’s laughableRight away, these numbers don't even need to be examined.
They're tell us we're a worse pass blocking team than the Bengals?
