The media was right when they were slobbering over him, though. He looked amazing in camp. Caught more balls than probably any other player in camp. And he looked uber-athletic in the process.

Not sure if it's bad luck, lack of discipline or lack of opportunities that has contributed to that not carrying over into the regular season, but it's not like the "hype" wasn't justified at the time.

I agree, and some of the hype may still be justified. Althogh I think he needs some fine tuning, he'll turn it on. I'm almost certain.

Come on Cincy! renew that offer!
Imagine using one of the 1sts and a 2nd to move up for McClain and still having a 1st? I'd have an accident.

I really love Bennett, but I have to tell you that if Cincy will renew the offer of a 1st for him I would take it. I have confidence in John Phillips as a backup and we can draft a 3rd TE late. Two 1sts would give us the ammo needed to move up and take Rolando McClain who I think is the perfect fit on this team.

I agree.

I've been saying it for a while. I love the guys potential but if the coaching staff can't find away to convert that potential into production, ship him. Get some value for him.

I don't know who I would take but I'm sure you could find a player somewhere to do more than ride the pine.

Odds are they will offer a 3rd next spring and Jerry will jump all over it.

Here's another way of looking at it:

Bennett has shown at least as much as Miles Austin showed at a similar stage of his career.

Heading into the season I felt Bennett would have a very good season I'm not ashamed to admit that. He could come back and play very well and that would not change the high hopes for this season. As for being a pre-season pumpkin up until this season Miles Austin was one of those pumpkins. Write Bennett off if you choose I know the guy has the talent he just has to step up and prove it.

You took the words right out of my mouth. I don't know why some of our fans are so quick to judge and so quick to want to get rid of a player. It makes no sense, it is in our best interest that he plays well. I wonder where this season would be without Miles or some of the other villified players?

I'm glad the organization is not as quick on pulling the plug on a player as fans are. Had the Cowboys pulled the plug on several key players that fans were moaning about at one time or another the other this team would be in very poor shape.

Way to often fans over react to what is taking place here and now with no vision to the bigger picture.
