On Quit Watch?

This is the greatest myth of the JG era. Between all the games they came out flat and all the games they got blown out in the second half, it's absolutely not true.

And playing hard is an EXPECTATION, not an achievement. The Dolphins played hard for Dan Campbell, doesn't mean he was a good coach.
Know who else the team played really hard for and never quit on?

when the asst. coaches start talking about the players to the media and players start calling out the coaches then you know its bad if the loses keep coming this thing will blow up

Everyone throwing everyone under the bus. All hoping to keep there cushy jobs.

Yeah I want Garrett gone, but Jerry does not help him, nor does he help in the hiring of future coaches. Who's gonna come to this circus?

This should all be behind closed doors. You don't publicly undress someone like that.
It's the problem with being media friendly. Even Crazy Al didn't seek out the spotlight. Booger doesn't have an effective brain trap, crap just comes flowing out and I guess he thinks he's reached the point where that's OK.

Andy Reid's last season in PHL, Lurie put him on notice what was expected for him to remain the HC when he addressed the media before the season and after that, even when they pushed him for a status on Reid's job, he would not comment.

Owners and GM's just don't second guess their HC's in the media, that is a no win for anyone, especially the players. The Cowboys players are already in a strange place because of the owner's involvement. This is just feeding the wrong fire, the one that will torch the season.

It will take the players pulling it together. If they decide they are done then it’s gonna get ugly. I think if JG was to throw Linehan under the bus now and get this Offense a new OC then it may just save his HC job. That’s just my opinion. JG has to be feeling the heat unless he and JJ has already talked and he knows he is safe.
This is an interesting idea Glim. If the offense is putrid again against the jags, the chopping block will probably start first with Linehan. Maybe Garrett slides back in as temporary OC and starts calling plays again, in a desperate last stand to save his job.

And the thing about all this is, it’s not so much about this season, although that’s in our faces. It’s the cumulative effect of all these years of Garrett and here we are almost a decade later in about the same spot as were when he took over. The talent is better, but the results aren’t.

And the HOF nose picker has not a clue that he’s THE problem.
I seriously wonder if someday soon, the NFL will come out with some rules that outlaw the Owner/GM practice. The only reason they don’t now is as long as the naked emperor is in charge as now, it guarantees the ‘Boys will always be in the back seat when the playoffs hit.

Good post, Mr. Hazy. I think the WRs are the first cards to fall, followed by the the guys on STs who start on defense. From there, once the outcome of games get worse and worse, the bottom will fall out quickly.
I order why the wrs are the ones starting to spit off first and loudest? It’s not hard to figure out why.

Dak, the wr killer, coach killer extraordinaire.

The defense fought hard the year Greg Hardy was here... not sure how that proves anything..

And it all depends on interpretation. In 2012, when we got blown out by the Saints and Chicago in two weeks, they were saying this team quite on Garrett.

This idea of ‘fighting hard’ is just a bogus thing this team has constructed, to justify sacking Wade Phillips at Garrett’s expense. In actuality, Garrett was the one subjected to plenty of criticism during that era, but this team was hiding behind TO as a cancer. The PR was high to put everything on Wade.

It is clearly time for a reboot. We spent the better part of the last 6 years building the greatest offensive line ever assembled for the greatest RB ever with a QB that is most effective running the ball and we punt it away on 4th and 1. Why even bother at that point.

Exactly. It's either a monumental indictment of the decision-making, or a monumental indictment of investing so much into your offensive line and running game and not being able to rely on it when it matters most.

Feel free to decide which one for yourself.

'At least they fight hard' lol Still cracks me up!! like collapsing every chance he gets but keeping it close means anything at all. Ridiculous!!

Good chance the stench from Sunday night lingers. A close home loss to J Ville might get overlooked but if they get run Wash all bets are off.

Hilarious that this team quit on wade while the assistant HC and OC had nothing to do with it. Very weird. People talk like he wasn't here or wasn't part of the problem in the first place.

it is shocking that that they haven't quit on him already - but, you can see lazy plays happening like Zeke two games ago that are costing the team...

#GROG

Makes me sad that we at one time had GROZ Going on in this forum. Boy would I love to have Zimmer coaching this team.

1. When Wade was fired after game 8, the offense already had 19 TOs. When Garrett fired Ryan in 2012, he said the defense didn’t give him enough chances offensively to score. He failed to see the irony in that statement considering how many times his offense was handing the ball back to the opposing team, giving them all these chances to score.

2. Romo got injured in game 7 and the play-offs were no longer a reality. This idea the team quit on Wade is a joke. They gave up on the season because it was over with.

3. Wade throughout the season, when his defense was holding teams to less than 20 points and still losing, he was saying the inability to run is putting a lot of pressure on the defense. Garrett never could field a running game.

4. The Cowboys lost to the Commanders in the first game of the season because Choice fumbled a pass with like 5 seconds to go in the half in their own territory. Garrett actually called a pass play instead of downing it and had a check down. Now Garrett is Mr. Conservative apparently.

Either he was sabotaging Wade or an idiot, or just a combination of both. It’s probably the latter.
