No offense to the OP, but the mods should just start a thread entitled I'm Jealous of the Eagles because......and merge all of these loose Eagles threads. Long story short, any Cowboys fan bringing up the Eagles right now does so out of pure jealousy and times are embarrassing enough.
I am absolutely jealous of the Eagles. You know they're going to catch up to us on the number of Lombardi trophies, right?

Where would our Cowboys OL unit rank in the NFL right now ...?
Towards the top somewhere.

It’s a bad offensive line league.

We are so fortunate to get a player like Tyler Smith because just because you draft a guy high doesn’t mean they’ll be any good.

Oline man in the NFL are just bad.

It’s the GM that is the difference. Name me 1 key free agent the Cowboys brought in while Dak was still on his rookie contract. And then look at what the Eagles have added over the past 2/3 years. That’s the difference

The Cowboys OL is good enough when healthy. If they continue to improve they will be a top run blocking OL in the league.

The other day I was listening to the NFL channel on Sirius/XM and they have Mike Quick, the ex-Eagles WR, on talking about the 2022 Eagles team. When they were talking about the Eagles defense Quick brought up the Cowboys game where the Cowboys hung 40 points on the Eagles defense. HE talked about how the Cowboys offense was so effective. It sounded to me like he was pretty impressed with how the Cowboys were able to buy Dak time and his receivers got open for him.

Consistency is a problem for the offense, but I do think they have the players. The upgrade to WR and RB will be a big help, I don't think the Cowboys are far behind the Eagles at all. Just a bit of an upgrade on the defense, and an upgrade on offense and I think the Cowboys are as good as the Eagles. They just need to stay healthy the way the Eagles have so far this year.

I was leaning towards KC and put a modest wager on them with the points last week. After watching media night last night, I have to say, I really like Eagles players. I don't even want to punch Serriani in the face anymore. I am seriously considering doubling my wager and placing it on the Eagles.

Yeah

We just worried about how much Dak would cost later, per usual

I dont think that was true. I believe they had some issues with dead money but it wasn't "hell"
I wish I could find the chart with the raw data, but here are a couple of quotes from the Garrett era:

Per Bleacher Report:

"Making matters worse is that the team is in the throes of salary cap hell, coming in at $22.3 million over. Back in December, former NFL agent Joel Corry ranked the Cowboys' cap situation as the worst in the NFL in a column for CBSSports.com."

Per Landry Hat/Fansided:

"The Cowboys are in salary cap hell, guaranteed to be pushing the cap limit for the forseeable future while still in dire need of help at multiple positions."

Also... if I remember right, the Patriots traded Chandler Jones for Jonathan Cooper and a 2nd round pick that year. Would have been nice to have prime Chandler Jones against Rodgers that year.

And the next year, Jacksonville got Marcel Dareus for a 6th round pick the following year. Not saying we could have swung that same deal, but gotta believe we could have gotten him for something reasonable also

When the Cowboys had this level of dominance on their oline, they did nothing with it. When you have an elite oline or dline in the trenches you have it made and need take advantage of it. Cowboys didn't b/c Dumb & Dumber stuck them with a head coach learning on the job. A coach who can't even get a college gig a few years after having the keys to the richest franchise on planet Earth for an entire decade. There is a lot of shame in this franchise the last 20+ years, one of the lowest for me is not winning anything of substance with The Great Wall of Dallas. Truly shameful looking back.

The biggest difference between the Eagles and the Jonesboys is separation of power. Eagles have a owner that is not the GM, a GM that is not the owner, and a Head Coach that is not the owner or the GM.

When we had that level of dominance on our OL we didn’t have the defense. We had a great OL in 2014 but our defense couldn’t stop a one legged Aaron Rodgers in the playoffs and in 2016 our OL was second to none but again our defense couldn’t stop Aaron Rodgers. Philly has a complete football team on both sides of the ball. The complete teams we had in the 90s won championships.

- Where the Eagles are clear head and shoulders above Cowboys are in the management front office.
When it comes to wheeling dealing for bettering player personnel per draft, trade, FA.. we're Not on their league ..by far.
Heck they have complied as many as 11 early round picks in the coming years. ..while we always stand pat with preferring quantity over quality

As far as the playing field ... We didn't get a chance to see a showdown with our best QB ... vs the Eagles best QB in ' 22,.. it was starter vs backup in both games.

- I like what we did to their starting defense - and that includes their pro bowl CB Darius Slay - and which is why we need a constant WR opposite Lamb and a vertical threat.
And yes our OL did held their own. vs Philly 70 sack taskmasters.-
What i did not like seeing is backup Gardner Minshew' go all Dan Marino on our Dan Quinn defense .

- They have no qualms about making the clever deals for AJ Brown, Chauncey Johnson, picking up Bradberry after a cut-release.
And on the run acquiring of vet FA's Suh and Lindall, while all we had to muster up a trade for Hankins by far our biggest winner in FA. .

Turn in your cowboy fan card. Sirianni is a petulant immature kid who has to build himself up in his mind. This roster is carrying him. All kudos to Howie. Jalen has to still prove himself to me and sirianni is along for the ride.
