Giants DL is indeed deeper than ours, but have you checked out the rest of their defense? If any offense player of ours gets to the second level, look out. Been watching Prince all preseason and Dez is going to ragdoll him.

Who aside from JPP on that line is a better than average starter at this point in their career? Heck, who aside from JPP, Tuck, and Kiwanuka is even an average starter at this point?

It's pointless for me to even get into this conversation. They go 9 deep with pedigree. We have to cross our fingers that we have one reserve worth a bleep.

But if that DL Is humming, it will cover up for a lot of issues in the back seven. Like it did when they won their last title.

No, there is plenty of reason to discuss this. The Giants' backups are journeymen (Jenkins, Rogers), old men (Jenkins, Rogers, Patterson), guys who didn't even play in the league last year (Rogers, Trattou), or young players who have proven nothing yet (Hankins, Trattou, Moore).

Joseph is decent, Kiwanuka is decent, Tuck was once great but is now just decent, JPP is great, but who else? It isn't 2007 anymore.

All you have to do is compare the Giants current line to the ones they had in those Super Bowls. Night and Day difference, the production is not there anymore.

This thread would scare me if it was 2010..

It wouldn't exist in 2010.

They might surprise me and return to form. They've got a some players who were very good, but got old in a hurry. And some older journeymen. They do have some young talent that, if it hits, could be very good in that rotation, too. I know Giants fans are supposed to be excited about Moore's training camp.

Giants have the deepest Dline in the NFL they have a legitimate 7 guys who are starter quality making their rotation very difficult to deal with because they are all fresh and an injury to 1 or even 2 guys doesnt really hurt them that bad while an injury to 1 or 2 of our guys crushes our dine....disappointing

Ask the Giants how that cornerback depth worked out for them last year :D

Just because a team is deep in one area does not mean they are smart, geniuses, etc. It means they struck gold in the draft in a position they invested multiple draft picks in at the expense of other areas.

JPP also is recovering from surgery on a herniated disk. Shaun Rogers wasn't even playing in the league last year. Osi and Canty are gone. Rocky Bernard is gone. Tuck has slid.

The giants always spend lavishly on the DL, and it's obviously worked for them. But they've got some question marks of their own. If their young players don't step up, they're definitely missing some of the multiple impact players they've had in years past.

I only see 2 quality defensive lines......Why are Cowboy fans always looking at what other teams are doing? This same Giants team went what? 9-7 last season? They missed the post season too remember.

Why come on a message board full of wimps? Don't you feel like we can bring your manliness down to our pathetic level? Your like a Charles Bronson tough guy, hanging with Rick Moranis type nerds. I can tell by the conviction seeping through your keyboard just how tough you are, and your right I'm terrified by it.

LOL

Agreed.

And I'm not sold that JPP will still be JPP after his back surgery.

Back surgery for a herniated disk isn't a small deal. And for him at his age to already be popping disks isn't a good sign.

I envy the Giants in their overall numbers... not in their quality.

And once you get away from their defense front, the rest of the defense looks pretty vulnerable.

I'll keep the Cowboy defense thank you very much!

If Ratliff and Crawford were healthy, I would like our overall DL depth. As it stands now with Crawford out and Ratliff IMO done, our DL is paper thin. Hatcher, Spencer and Ware must stay on the field all season.

The Giants definitely have better depth. In no way are they a young Osi, young Tuck and Strahan & co. But they can withstand an injury or 2 to the DL much better than the Cowboys can to the DL. With that said, JPP is the only game changer, assuming he will be healthy. As for Game 1, I don't think either DL will be a factor.

I would certainly say the giants DL is better than ours, but it isn't a landslide...and, our LB's are light years ahead of theirs and our secondary is much better (at least @ CB - jury still out on the safeties);

I think people are remembering when the Giant's DL was feared (2010-ish?); I say put them to the test and make them run to the sides...let's see their rotation get more usage than they want...our defense will keep their offense in check more frequently in Game #1, meaning our offense will have the ball more...having the ball more means that the giants DL will be more tired on defense...

we will see the 12package rolled out more in this game and guys like JPP will get chipped more on the outside....

Ok, but like I said I wish Dallas did that, obviously that formula has been better then our "secret sauce"
