one more time please...

I think the problem is that a lot of the times we as fans don't really know what's going on down there in the field. And you could easily have some people who post and haven't even watched the game, but go from the stat lines. So if they see that Strahan got 2 sacks, they simply figure that since he lines up opposite Petitti it must obviously be Petitti's fault. It's not a responsible way to post, but it happens pretty frequently. Responsibility and the internet don't exactly go hand in hand.

As an aside, you can't ask for more out of a 6th round draft pick who is learning both the NFL and a new position. Yeah, he's struggled at times, but he has played some tough guys and he's learning as he goes. I think that as long as he continues to work hard and develop we're going to be set at RT for a long time, and I'm sure most other fans feel the same way.

Hey, Pittdawg! I need MY #79 jersey too. Getting tickets (hopefully) for the Dec. 4 game too. Will talk to you about it soon. Hope all is well. Your sister, J

PS to all Cowboy fans: Rob will be just fine! He has ALWAYS risen to the occasion and made believers out of disbelievers. Have faith --- be patient --- and watch!

i would just like to restate that i have no problem with anything anyone posts on this board. i would only ask that people post correct information: i.e. strahan got only one sack on rob, not two. i realize that this is an open forum for ideas and views and should remain that way. i respect all views as to my sons play so far, but the only views i'm concerned with are those of parscells and jones. so far, the reports i get are good and getting better. rob knows that alot of work needs to be done and will be getting after it in the off season. meantime, rob and the rest of the team are working extremely hard to win the remaining games, after that we'll see.

thank you

pittdawg

Hey pittdawg, you have the priorities straight alright......BP and Mr. Jones is all that should matter.

Do you hear optimism without naming names.....from within our organization that our Cowboys can make it to the Super Bowl? I say yes because of the rookies......and our great FA pickups........thanks

All I got to say is your a brave and patient man to visit an open forum like this when you have a son on the team.

If I were in your shoe's, I'm not sure that I would be able to "stomach" open ended discussion.

In my mind it would be akin to being able to read peoples minds. There are just certain things that are better left unsaid.

thanks for the support sis, will call tonight.

A lot of fans expect our defense to constantly pressure the other teams' QBs and rack up a lot of sacks. At the same time they expect our OL to never let other teams get near our QB.

It is a compliment to Rob that he has played so well that all of us knuckleheads are already expecting Pro Bowl level play from him every game. However, like his father said, the only thing that matters is what Parcells thinks of his play.

Yo, Pittdawg:
Any inside info on our injuries would be greatly appreciated: Henry, JJ and Dat. We are a little worried about Henry for sure (groin injuries are nasty); and are hoping that JJ comes back soon and starts smoking; and Dat will be full strength ASAP.
With the bye week stretching out, we are going to be going nuts here wondering.

Pittdawg, it's funny how things work out. There were a lot of hopes that things would go well before training camp began this year. But they were only hopes. No one really knew how the Dallas cowboys were going to perform as a team. As the season began, Rob was one of the surprises in a large rookie class.

Everyone knew Rob would get some help as we started a veteran (with the exception of Rob) and pretty good OL. Early success (and near misses) against good teams lead to rising expectations. Then Flozell went down but the expectations haven't. Now Rob is having to do with a lot less help in an environment where fans see the Cowboys having a real chance to catch lightning in a bottle this year. No pressure at all

Some fans on this board are going to overreact every time we have a setback. Rob will get his share of criticism and I thank you for coming on with facts and a calm and reasoned response. I hope you will continue to visit with us here.

Pittdawg,
Agree totally.

I remember the post and tried to correct it.

Rob has been a pleasant surprise this year. I also agree with the person who said if he is playing this well now, under these conditions, he will be a pro bowler someday!

BTW, he played much better and shut out Chiki last Sunday. Shows you how much better he has already gotten since his first time out!

spoke with a number of players after card. game at some length, by the way, a nice bunch of guys. julius said he is ready to go and thought that a tandum of he and marion would be awesome. no other injured palyers were there so i can't comment, however those there all want to win in the worst way. some very good veteran leadership is trying to pull this offense ahead.

I appreciate this kind of input.

More unselfishness. It's great to know while the DMN runs a "who should start poll - MBIII vs JJ", one of the players himself doesn't seem to think there's too little rock to share.
