The difference is "now" is after the Ravens game, and "now" is prior to the Eagles game.

So are you trying to really say...How Now Brown Cow?

And even if you're not trying to say that, it still makes me feel funny.

What I was saying was that, sitting here right now, Monday morning QB'ing about the Ravens game is easy, but sitting here right now, making predictions about the Iggles game is a little more difficult.

You are a peculiar bird BP, where are you from ?? :laugh2:

Hate to go on a Jerry bashing rant because he was not on the field to let those two last runs happen.

But since we have had our last Superbowl and playoff win for that matter...There has been one constant. Jerry Jones.

We have had different players, different coaches, different philosophies of coaching, different offenses and defenses.

But one constant through it all...Jerry Jones.

Jerry is a great business man but he needs to let someone else be the GM and if not he needs to bring in someone else that he has enough respect for to loosen his grip a tad. He did that some with Parcells but that was during a rebuilding phase somewhat and I have to wonder if Wade is going to be gone if Holmgren will come in because that might be the only guy Jerry respects enough to give that kind of power to or even to the level that Tuna had.

We will see.

It's been a long time coming for me but i agree.

the problem I see is that Romo has been missing guys for quite a few games now... it's an on-going problem.

the defense, while awful on those plays, did ok and has been doing good. BUT I'm a firm believer that the defense can't do it all on it's own. Romo hits Austin, makes a difference in how the Ravens approach the end of the game i think...

Well, it was a history-making night in Texas Stadium, just not the kind of history-making we were expecting. :(

The two longest runs given up by a Dallas defense EVER in Texas Stadium-- and they happen 4 minutes apart?????

Why isn't there more uproar over this?

Jebus, there were many seasons when a Cowboys defense wouldn't give up one of these runs-- but two in one friggin game? Within minutes of each other?

I'm shocked more are not outraged at how pathetic giving up those two long runs actually was. Maybe folks are have just tried pushing it out of their minds because of how football ugly that was.

And I don't want to hear how the offense let the defense down-- my gosh, how many times over the last decade have we had an offense that couldn't put up points if its life depended on it, yet those defenses filled with the likes of: Ebenezer Ekuban and Mario Edwards never gave up what this defense did.

Bash Romo all you want but those two runs combined, made my top 5 list of worst Cowboy moments-- ever. And that list goes back to the early 70's.

Because, Tony Romo threw 2 first half INT's and chocked.....God man i thought you would this by now..... /sarcasm.

Wow. With the Ice Bowl and Jackie Smith and The Catch and all the scores of other important losses this franchise has faced in playoff and Superbowl games over the last several decades, a week 16 loss to a good Ravens team is one of the worst moments ever?

I totally agree. Watching those two runs hurt, don't get me wrong, but they are not close to being one of the worst moments in team history (maybe for the young fans, but not the old timers) I remember how disgusted I was watching Eric Dickerson run through the Cowboy defense like it was toilet paper in the 1985 playoff game we lost to the Rams 20-0. I think he ended up with 250 yards. Just frosted my butt after the emotion win over the Giants a couple of weeks earlier for the division title (Steve Pelluer leading the Cowboys to the winning TD).
The Ravens game was disappointing but definately not one of the worst :starspin

I was mad in 1985, too, but that team overachieved to win that division and get that far. They beat the Giants with Steve Pelluer throwing to Karl Powe and Leon Gonzalez.

This current team has a ton of talent. That's what makes their missteps so pronounced.

So help me understand how you KNEW we'd lose to Baltimore but now don't have any idea which team will show up this week. What is the difference?

You're right, I didn't really know it, I just felt fairly sure of it. It has become normal for me to not have any idea how the Boys will play but every now and then I get a hunch that works out.

Comes from watching inconsistent groups of football players masquerading as a team. :D

Must suck to go through life with that attitude.

Not really, it applies only to trying to predict the outcomes of Cowboys games the last few years. I keep hoping I will recover from it spontaneously but so far, no such luck. :D

We know it's coming to the end of days ... because I agree 100% with MW. I was expecting to find post after post on this historic collapse ... and that's not hyperbole, literally historic .... but I just found thread after thread of Romo bashing. That's probably the slowest RB tandem in the NFL. McGahee's longest run of the year to that point was 17 yards. 17 YARDS !!!!

After the initial anger and disgust had disappated, I was thinking ... "Wow, I know a lot of people still claim this team, specifically this defense, doesn't have a character or a heart problem. They claim we simply get beat by good teams who make a few more key plays at key times ... but surely they can't deny this was a catastrophic folding in the clutch. Surely the magnitude of this can't be brushed off." But no, apparently it can.

You right. There have been several bad moments; but this time I was mad and embarrased. Ok. It happens. But twice on two consecutive plays!?!

That team overachieved to get to that point, and Eric Dickerson went through a lot of defenses like toilet paper in 1985.

This wasn't Eric Dickerson in his heyday, this was Le'Ron friggin McClain.

just freaking unreal how that could happen. once, o.k., a freak occurance.
but twice? my god, that's sad defense.

That's what happens when you don't take the time to wrap up. Just a pathetic display of tackling and a total lack of effort.

P.S. Is it just me, or does Ken Hamlin really kind of suck? If that guy is a pro-bowler, my name is Santa Claus.

Yeah, I'm stunned that we agree too. :D

But I'm more stunned that the Cowboy nation has as you correctly put it, "brushed off" this debacle for the most part. It's as if those two runs have been collectively put out of our minds. Like some sorta weird "Dallas" dream sequence part II.

There's a difference between "brushing off" something and calling it one of the worst moments in 48 years.
