DQ was arse. Lets not ignore that. MM never had a chance this week. But he didnt help matters by being very vanilla. He never even used a Fullback as a lead blocker. Bad prep. It was a massive team failure, top down. Everything we do must be questioned.
Yes the defense failed too. But after SF 1st drive which ended in a TD, SF was forced to punt, punt, then fumble on the next 3 drives. But in that time span the cowboys ran only 7 plays in their 3 drives. That can wear out any defense and the next play was a 38 yard TD because Dallas turned the ball over so close to its goal line. The massive failure for the offense to do anything with the ball in the 1st half killed this team, completely destroyed their will. I already knew the defense wouldn't dominate like in the 3 wins, maybe that's why i'm more blaming the offense.

I genuinely hate that we will likely still make the playoffs and forget this game happened, and somehow a resign will occur

Purdy is smart and has a world class coach and skill players. Dak is legit unintelligent. Assume he would struggle teaching a 2nd grade math class.
Now we questioning intellect........going in the wrong direction. Now Dak can't count & read, but Purdy can teach at MIT. Wow.....too funny and sad too in 2023.

I actually think we miss the playoffs. I think Washington will beat us out.

Is how good he was at READING THINGS QUICKLY, sees the read, and he throws it, makes a decision. How is a guy that's in his 2nd season able to do this, and Dak isn't able to do this?
Instincts. Talent. Seeing the field and reading D's is a talent.

Dak at times has seemed to improve in this area, but we certainly didn't see that last night. Dak looked pretty bad

next time we look for a qb in the draft we don't worry so much about his leadership aspects but focus on his instincts and mobility or something

Dak can definitely make a quick read. 3rd and 5 and pass it to the TE for 3 yards to get tackled short.

THE DREADED flat pass to a RB who has a guy running up to him to get 1 YARD OR NO GAIN, when he could have really just thrown it out of bounds!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dak and many others who have been around for years...its credit to Purdy, not discredit to anybody else. the kid is smart.

how 32 passed on this kid for 6 rounds and 31 teams for another round is beyond me.
Played at a blue collar college in Iowa ST. Size/speed/arm strength are all average. And it's very hard to evaluate any player who lacks talent around him, which was definitely the case.

Purdy has the undefinable unteachable IT factor. Can't measure it, can't test for it, just no way to judge it. And it prolly didn't show up due to playing at Iowa ST, and the O was most likely not set up to best utilize his talent. Isn't Iowa St a run first type football O?

Its not desperate now? Not looking great at the least.
Wed also find out what kind of real team player and leader dak really is. Does be sit for the good of the team and help coach the new qb?
so change for the sake of change, without any real plans, end up in what?

I think we need better plan than to start Lance, because I don't like Dak. with expectations of what? better results. is that realistic? I am not sticking up for Dak. he sucked yesterday. but Lance is far from being ready.

and if this ends up in a losing streak, then yeah, lets see what Lance is got. at that point, the clear signal is we are throwing the season away and ready to rebuild, but at that point we better be ready to rebuild and take the bitter pill that comes with it.

well, maybe not great but all I know is, it might be worth a shot. Dak just seems indifferent and fine with the end results. I wanna see what we have.
my point is replacing Dak is not the answer. there is more that needs to be done. there is more that ails this team than just the QB.

Argh, both teams playing with rookie/cheap QB's that help CAP facilitating a roster. Where's Wentz and Garoppolo, at some time you have to part ways with QB's who are both expensive and aren't at a difference making level.

The Eagles have signed their QB to a huge contract. That advantage is not there anymore and they do not have the talent SF has particularly on defense. Philly always plays like they’re behind even when they’re ahead by multiple scores. They win often, but the are not as good as SF.

Ok....again....that isnt really what i said.
Having said that....i dont think we are too far apart in what you said above.

Is no plan so much worse than a bad plan? [Shrug]

It’s looking more and more like San Francisco struck gold with Purdy. It doesn’t appear he’s just some flash in the pan. If he keeps playing like this, he’ll be making 50+ million with his next contract.

I noticed that in a lot of his throws. He knew where the defenses dead spots were and that his receiver would get in that area.

I was really impressed with Purdy last night.

He processes things quickly.

Dak just throws the ball as fast as possible and hopes for the best.

If Dak can’t do it by now he never will. I’d start Rush next game.
