One thing they mentioned about Purdy

Is how good he was at READING THINGS QUICKLY, sees the read, and he throws it, makes a decision. How is a guy that's in his 2nd season able to do this, and Dak isn't able to do this?
That's what separates quarterbacks from eachother. Purdy is also quick to find the open guy if things break down. I saw that last year. You can have all of the accuracy and arm strength in the world, you have to be able to process things quickly.

The 2001 Patriots team flipped the second they went from Bledsoe to Brady. Same for the Cowboys in 2006, but with lesser results. But that team wasn't a playoff team with Bledsoe.

The one thing about Purdy we don't know yet, is how he rebounds after a game he gets rattled. It's going to happen eventually. I'm not rooting against him. I don't root against any young QB. But he at least has a good start. Better to get confidence first, then be rattled, as opposed to the other way around.

Purdy is a good qb but I think he's successful due to the structure in place vs his raw talent. It reminds me of that bus driver comment by Parcells back in the day. Purdy can drive the bus cause he has a great coaching staff who has put in a clear structure to allow it's players to be successful and he's mastered that structure. This doesn't seem to be the case in Dallas. The offense seem basic and nothing definitive but more add-lib vs knowing the plays, going through natural progression of your offense, and making the best decision. Watching Purdy play was nothing more than working within that structure and going through how they practice and executing. It's like that old statement, you play like how you practice. No idea where you go from here. Yes, they can be successful this year, maybe gel more as the year goes on, but I can't see this team winning it all especially if the 9ers are there again in the end.

Ok....again....that isnt really what i said.
Having said that....i dont think we are too far apart in what you said above.

Is no plan so much worse than a bad plan? [Shrug]
both bad. I think if we lose another 3 games, then time to make change and insert Lance. forget Rush as he sucks, we already know he sucks. he is not an Elite QB. or even that good. if lance doesn't show anything, then just blow it up.

then again, we are talking about Jerry. he won't blow it up. he will spin. and do we trust him to rebuild? he is 1.5 ft away from grave. he is not going to rebuild.

Purdy looks just like Dak his first year.

Lucked out to an incredibly gifted team and is playing great. We all know how this goes...

See what Purdy does in the future with injuries to the OL or regression over the years. Plus more tape
The difference is Purdy will have Shanahan while Dak had JG & MM.

He’s a lot smarter than Dak.

Purdy just sits back there with all day to throw, can step up and deliver the ball with no concerns at all. And his WR's are wide open. THAT being said we have to give the kid credit. He is accurate, doesnt make mistakes and is as poised as it gets. He was poised last year as well.
So true lack of pressure. Open receivers with no one near them are a key to his success

his team is so good the immediate reads are typically there for the taking. similar to daks first year. we’ve get to see him when things get tough

The Eagles have signed their QB to a huge contract. That advantage is not there anymore and they do not have the talent SF has particularly on defense. Philly always plays like they’re behind even when they’re ahead by multiple scores. They win often, but the are not as good as SF.
No, Hurts' contract is designed to make them competitive upto and including 2026 (when his CAP allocation is still just 10.3%).

Isnt this 'helped' when the Defense is being overly aggressive? Everyone guessed our Defense would be aggressive, especially early on, due to concerns with the offense clawing back a deficit. I suppose it's easier for the coaching staff, if they can predict the opposition.

DQ was arse. Lets not ignore that. MM never had a chance this week. But he didnt help matters by being very vanilla. He never even used a Fullback as a lead blocker. Bad prep. It was a massive team failure, top down. Everything we do must be questioned.
Why was he vanilla.

Give Purdy credit for playing well on a good team. In the Grand scheme of things I dont care how good he is or isn't, but I do care how Dak is performing or isn't performing.

There are a lot of pictures and videos floating around with open Dallas receivers.

What separates Purdy and Dak is anticipation and accuracy. Purdy is throwing right as a guy comes out of his break to where he is going to be. Accurately. He "throws players open" and because he does it early with a relatively soft throw, defenses have less time to get to Purdy.

Dak throws after a guy comes out of his break. This lets the defender break on the ball. Even worse, he is frequently high or behind which forces the receiver to break stride. All of that makes it so that by time the camera gets to the catch, it looks like the defender is right on the receiver. Apparently certain fans take that as "Dallas' receivers suck".

IMO, Dak is a middle of the pack NFL QB. You can win with that if you have an elite running game. Dallas does not have an elite running game.

Close your eyes........imagine Purdy on the Cowboys. He'd be ruined.
