Right. That definition is for a 4-3 defense. When you have a LB or a secondary rushing its a blitz because you already have the 4 linemen and you're adding a 5th rusher. Therefore, 5 players rushing equals a blitz.

I'd suggest people not try and prove theogt wrong on this one. A blitz IS when a 5th (or more) player is sent on a given play.


And that definition listed is incorrect. Blitzes aren't JUST to put pressure on a QB. Ever heard of a "Run blitz"?
