But at what cost did the defense come? Our drafts have been heavy on defensive ends and linebackers. We have ignored the offense for the most part, trading away our first round pick in 2004 when we desperately needed a running back. We sat watching the likes of Vinny Testaverde and Cocaine Carter as QB while we focused on molding the defense in your image. You know defense, I will give you that, but, your efforts on offense have not been spectacular. We have suffered through last year watching you play offense, "not to lose."

I agree and that's been my gripe....We're so heavy on defense, especially LBs, that the offense has suffered. The defense is built on young, fresh talent, while the offense is put together piece-meal, mostly consisting of aging veterns. The conservative style of offense is frustrating to watch and came back to bite us more than once. However,if Bill can turn around a team in four years, then I'd say he's been successful. This year we'll see if the meal is ready yet.

I apologized for the typo. Your pointing it out just demonstrates that you didn;t even read the threa, or you would have seen a half dozen other posts with the same kind of tripe. You are just running into a thread, flaming someone, then pat yourself on the back for how smart you are.

i had a lot more problem when i heard they were actually gonna implement the 3-4 Defense - effectively rendering much of our roster into square pegs in round holes (and look how that is working out - yippeeee!).

I acknowledged that. The point I was trying to make is that he did it in an uneven way. Totally rebuilding the defense is a great thing. It cost us three drafts, but we are there. Although unproven, I expect the D to be dominating. Did I ever say it wouldn't? OR did you gloss over that in your hurry to say my opinion was a crock?

He and other informed fans know when you have a good defense you have a chance. if you don't then you have no chance. you become the KC of the NFL. score a ton of points and nothing to show for it. see pittsburgh, see new england. see carolina. see the eagles. all of those teams had good dominating defenses.

See Chicago. Is that what you want this team to be?

as for you comment of play not to lose. did you check who our tackles were last year. did you even ****ing check the offensive ranking of the team before Adams' injury. we were a top 5 offense and that was playing against the likes of eagles, washington and giants. two playoff teams and a team that was a superbowl favorite before their injuries. so get your facts straight before you spew nonesense.

There you go again. Did you see the Washington or Oakland games? Did you read anything after the games? If believe anyone paying attention last year would have to agree that there was sharp criticism of Parcells for his conservative play calling. As far as our offense after Flo went down, do I need anything more relevant to make my point that Parcells built the defense at the cost of the offense? plus get over the notion that they ignored the offensive side. is barber, witten, fasano, JJ, rogers, peterman, crayton, romo, henson.any of those players not ofefnsive players? the issue is they missed on a few, namely rogers, peterman and henson.

And who other than Witten has proven to be an NFL performer? JJ? Barber? Crayton? Romo? The OL busts are what is making me think that Parcells is one dimensional.

there are only so many draft picks and so many FAs. or do you believe in the Commanders philosophy of over paying year in year out and have nothing to show for it. yes they are the paper champions of the pre-season. year in year out.

They must be doing something right, they embarrassed us twice last year.

The backs are solid. The QB has his warts, but is light years ahead of anything on the Bears. The receiving corps, including Witten, is arguably among the best in the game. The only question marks are on the O-line, and Bill tried to address that. he just missed. It happens to every coach.

If you want to be critical of Parcells and his play calling, fine (the same offensive philosophy, BTW, which won the Steelers a SB last year). But just don't make crap up to fit your argument.

If you are happy with the way Parcells handles things, good for you. I am getting concerned that he may becoming a bit of a disruption himself. You can't call out players the way he does and expect them to sacrifice for you. LANDRY and Johnson never did it. Belichek doesn't. But I guess that just means Parcells is a tough guy. Maybe Mike Ditka can replace him.

Again, the Steelers won last year with a suffocating defense, ball control, and using the run to set up play action passes. That's what Bill preaches. That's what he's trying to build here, as fast as he can.

You wanna nitpick on some calls go right ahead. But when the offensive line was a seive last year and your calling for him to "open up the offense" it just makes you look like a complete fool.

Parcells has built a career on motivating guys to outwork the other team. A HOF career at that. But you don't like the way he treated a third string QB so now you're going to write a letter about it. Good for you.
