Open Letter To Ryan Switzer

They've never tried him outside much, if he can or can not do it, no way to tell.

But hey! let's get rid of every player who doesn't become All Pro by year two, the rookie is always better, right?

The hate for Beasley never ends...
Beasley is just a guy. He isn't special and can be easily replaced with a rookie. He had 36 catches last year....... Wow how would we ever replace that production. Switzer had 6 in the last game with actual playing time, how many catches is that over a 16 have season. T. Williams outproduced Beasley as well.

Nobody hates Beasley but he is just a guy and easily replaced. The love for him is way too much

Maybe the raiders will give him a chance. Don’t think he would really get one here. But was surprised we traded him. Could be the next amendola.
Not all white players are the same, lol.
Amendola is 5'11" and 190 pounds with excellent route running skills versus both zone and man.

Very different body type.
Switzer is more like Beasley.
"Switzer is a slot-only target with punt return skills." --literally from his nfl.com draft profile

- Lucky Whitehead was perceived to be a headache for a UDFA. Was late to a bus or missed a bus to Green Bay game previous year? .. Dating Zeke's squeeze or something on the sly, maybe a locker room irritant? .. So 2017 draft had - just like Taco was a need - at least an idea to get this guy or Pumphrey on the 3rd day of draft for the jet sweep-type WR/back to replace Lucky. .. Also Beez's contract up in a few years - draft a replacement slot WR.

- If you are as tiny as Switzer you better be very fast or quick. He wasn't so much, but his return game - great vision for lanes and another reason to draft him for returns.

- No one talks much about the knee he took on the kickoff at what the 10 yard line or something? ... I can't find a video of it. .. An unusual idea and not a very good one.

- He might turn out to be a good slot WR I guess they'll find out. The Philly game wasn't a great test.
He took a knee because it was raining and we were winning. No need to take a chance at getting hit and fumbling. We didn't need to score we needed to hold onto to the ball and run clock....... It wasn't at the 10 either

White? You're making this about race? Ick.

White? You're making this about race? Ick.
*** are you talking about? lol?
I'm making it the opposite of about race.
5'8" guys operate in the slot (or back field) only regardless of race.

He isn't special and can be easily replaced with a rookie. He had 36 catches last year.

He was targeted way less last year, due to Linehan not being able to figure out how to get the double teams of him.

Just gotta love the "can be easily replaced", like I said, the new guy is ALWAYS better, even though he hasn't done it, right?

Beasley LED THE TEAM IN RECEPTIONS the year before. Talk about "easily", how soon people forget what somebody has done for them, but it's never good enough...

So, let me get this straight. You make it about race, then declare that you're making it the opposite of race.

That makes no sense, dude.

Reminds me of when Eminem wrote that song to DR.Dre

He wasnt doubled as much as y'all like to claim. He regressed, a better player covered him and he couldn't get open. Stop the excuses. 2 years ago Beasley led the team in catches but didn't have the most TDs or yards per catch. He simply led the team in catches because he was available to play while Dez and Butler missed games. I don't care what a player did in the past, I care what a player does now and last year Beasley was just a guy that can be replaced. You can over hype him if you want but I'm not fooled

Can't believe u guys still talking about a unproven Little wr named switzer who fumbled the ball on punt returns with only one big play hé had the whole season for a td.cowboys benched him for a reason.we needed a DT anyway so wel done cowboys organisation

So at some point you just dump a guy because somebody else MIGHT be better?

Yeah that's a way to build a consistent team, let's just change receivers like socks, the new guy is ALWAYS better, I get it...

It makes no sense because you are posting nonsense.
I never "made it about race".
I made the statement that not all white WRs are the same. I.E. Danny Amendola and Ryan Switzer are very, very different body types.

Switzer is gone because he wasn't able to help out of the back field or covering kicks and as a back up slot he didn't have enough of a role.
The race stuff is your poor reading comprehension.

It's all water under the bridge - Switzer is gone, Beasley is not.

Just another way of saying the coaches are all blithering idiots to some...

No you dump a guy when they get old and the pay isn't adding up.

If you have a 30 year old player making 5 million a year with 1 year left in his contract but can get the same production from a 22 year old costing peanuts and under contract for 3 years which would you rather have?

Dez is a much better player then Beasley but Dez was cut, now why do you think that is.

Beasley is a solid guy but he isn't the best receiver on the team and is a one trick pony. Again I know you hold him dear to your heart but I'm about what makes the Cowboys great and could care less about what players have done in the past. I want the best for the Cowboys, period. Beasley isn't going into the ring of honor nor the Hall of Fame, so over hype him like he can't be replaced all you want but the facts still remain

Whaddya think Switzer is? He’s the poster boy for JAGs.

Nothing but a blond Lucky Whitehead; a mediocre PR, who was a turnover-waiting-to-happen and who couldn’t crack the lineup except for gimmicky jet-sweep BS.

Beasley's cap hit for 2018 is $4.25 million. Dez's was going to be what, $12 million?
Beasley has NEVER been a team distraction, Dez was a constant distraction.
Beasley has missed only 1 game the last 3 years (including the last game in 2017 which he just didn't play). Dez missed 10 games the last 3 years.

Need more reasons?

Look, I'm not saying Beasley is All Pro or indispensable to the team. I'm just saying people are taking a 1 year guy, who has little if any continuity with Dak and the offense, and putting him in place of an established receiver just because "well, I think he's better". Sure you want to better your team, but when you have a two year quarterback who is still learning the game you need to keep some familiarity with the offense. Your number 1 receiver is gone, your no. 2 is recovering from foot surgery and now you want to replace your slot guy, all at the same time?

Makes no sense at all. Call it the "bird in the hand" viewpoint or whatever, but the fact remains - SWITZER WAS TRADED. Sorry if you're such a great judge of NFL talent and the Cowboys didn't follow your plan, but that's the way it is....
