First off, "Guilty" is only the determination in a court of law which is a much higher burden(beyond a reasonable doubt)........Zeke was found in violation of a policy by four members of an independent panel that looked at all the evidence( including the report by Roberts not recommending suspension) and still recommended a 6 game suspension....TWO MUCH DIFFERENT STANDARDS...And what is this so-called conspiracy alleged by the NFLPA, what exactly is the benefit to the league by conspiring to have one of their young star players not playing for 6 games.....I have no idea if Zeke violated the policy or not, but conflating two different standards of a criminal code with some business policy standard of a league is annoying to read constantly by those who apparently don't understand the difference.

In order to extract one's self from a hole, one must first make the wise choice to set down the shovel and cease to dig.

I think you're wrong on this part. Friel refused to let the lead investigator's recommendation be heard by the panel. That's one part of the conspiracy claim by the NFLPA.

Looks like you are already wrong. Some reports are saying that Goodell and the 4 person panel WERE NOT given the findings of the lead investigator.

Roberts was the co-author of the 160 page report submitted to the panel, wouldn't she have made her conclusions about Thompson in the report,.....

The best thing would be is Zeke receiving no suspension, and the 2nd best outcome is Goodell looking like the village idiot once again.
I see the angle you were coming from....but a man pocketing 40m a year never looks like an idiot. In truth...the idiots are us.....for allowing a league to continue to grow by leaps and bounds...while at the same time telling the fans to go "suck it".

My love has and continues to wane for this league. And I wish more fans would follow suit. This league needs to be hit where it hurts the most...the pockets.....for the fans to get a just return on our investment.

Make sure your backup alarm and reverse lights are working from here on out.

I'm really hoping this becomes a transcendent moment for the league and heads roll.

Would Jerry Jones want this to happen?

I think this will all get swept under the rug if the NFL just drops everything and Zeke and Jones would be satisfied with that.

I'm not a lawyer but I talked with a buddy last night who is. Even before this latest info, his comment to me was that there are certain rights you cannot sign away, no matter what the cba says or what a release form you sign says.

The burden of proof may be more difficult, but given the wording the suspension he felt some of the rights Zeke was denied are definitely cause for a winnable lawsuit. And winnable may not even affect the suspension, but could result in damages. He spouted a bunch of other stuff I can't remember which sounded bad for the NFL.

Any lawyers have comments?

Yes, the worfing in the ruling was slanderous.

Roberts co-authored the 160 page report given to the panel, but I agree she should have been made available to the panel if they had questions for her

That's not proof. And the report being that long does not impress me. The league is hiding all pages of it.

Considering that last bit how do you know who wrote it?

She co-authored parts of the report, but the entire report was compiled by several members of the Investigative Committee and that Friel also felt that it was not important for the advisors to meet with Roberts, who was the only person to actually interview the accuser. This is why Roberts wrote and circulated internal memos, she saw there was some shady business going down and wanted to leave a paper trail. Conspiracy, corruption, it's all there......
