I'm sorry, but anybody who wants Jason Garrett gone is an idiot. They simply don't know what they are talking about.

If we win the Super Bowl Garrett will be gone. I mean, he will know that Wade would be here for a least 3 more years if that happenned IMO so he would have to look elsewhere if he is truly wanting to become a HC, owuldn't he?

Next week's game will land somebody a HC job. It'll be either Leslie Frazier or Jason Garret who lands it IMHO depending on the outcome of the game.

Bit of a strange time to ask, can I answer next Monday?

No, you cannot. This isn't a democracy, mister. Either answer the question right now or get labled "one of those".

I think Leslie is a guy who is going to take the next job. For a couple of reasons. First, Leslie isn't getting paid like Garrett is and won't get paid like that without a HC job. Second, teams know they will have to make a serious financial commitment to JG. 3 mill a year seems the minimum new HCs get ... and JG gets that already. Third, I think there is perception around the league that if your roster is full of lemons, you should really hire a defensive HC because he is more likely to make lemonade.

What happens if we win the SB? Doesnt Wade deserve a little more than an option pickup?? But more like a 2-3 year extension? I doubt he would be looking to retire.

I wonder if JC would be patient enough to stick around that long as OC.

That would suck beyond words and Cowboy nation would rue the day.

Garrett starting to get crapped on because of T.O. and some fans unwittingly latched onto it.

Jason is flat BRILLIANT... One of the best offensive minds in the game. We can't lock JG down unless Jerry is willing to give Jason the HCing job and I can understand the dilemma with all of that.

I heard they liked Russ Grimm, and are just waiting for the Cards season to end to interview him.

C-lab you have been one of the biggest Garrett haters in these parts. Then you've gotten strangely quiet on the topic the past month.

Why don't you step up the mic and share your thoughts now. :p:

Jerry didn't pay Garrett like a HC and title him assistant HC for nothing. Garrett is going nowhere.

Oh and you think Jerry is the pimp and Garrett merely one of his girls?

What a fool comment.

Garrett will do whatever the helll he wants. And don't think he won't be getting a ton of attention. He is flat ELITE.

Jason won't turn down another HCing offer unless it's in some sorry situ that doesn't make sense for him.

Success has a price...and Wade and Jason have both been outstanding this year. Jerry will have to open his wallet some more and that might not even be enough.

I really think Garrett is going to stay here and wait for the HC position. I think doing what he has done over the last part of the season to get this offense to gel is remarkable. We now are always one step ahead of the other team. As soon as the other team counters, JG has anticipated their counter and we immediately burn them for a big play. He has finally taken that final step as an OC where he sees how all the parts of an offensive gameplan are supposed to fit together and he has his guys executing in a way we haven't for many, many years. There is also nothing very gimmicky about what he is doing that other coaches in the league are going to figure out. He is just moving the pieces of our offense around to create the mismatches that he wants. It is just beautiful to watch right now.

The other thing he is doing is scoring points and lots of them against good defenses - averaged 29 ppg against the Eagles. The 17 against the Skins and the 24 against the Saints is a bit misleading due to some poor red zone play but you could see how close we were now getting to be able to put up monstrous offensive numbers.

Anyhow, I'm sold on the guy.

I think he will stay because this is his team. He was the QB here for many years. His dad was a scout here. His brother works here. He has been promised the best job in all of football. He will be paid very well and wield more influence than probably any other young coach in the league on his team in the personnel area.

The only reason I could see him leaving is if Wade gets a long extension (4 or 5 years) and the Giants job becomes available.

You have to remember there are many coordinators around the league who stayed coordinators for a very long time. I don't see the big impetus to take a HC job for a bad team bereft of talent with bad management and little influence on roster decisions.

So to the rest of the league, don't bother. He's our guy.

The only question is who is going to take over the defensive reigns. I don't know if anyone from the current staff is in line for the promotion to DC. The word was Garrett wanted to bring in Dom Capers as his DC if he got the HC gig back in 2007, wasn't it?

not sure if I want Capers here - hell the were Cards WR's running open all over the field Suday

I could see Herring as DC

or one of these guys

Mike Nolan - Jerry open that wallet
Keith Butler - Pitts
Ron Aiken - Cards
Thomas "Pepper" Johnson - NE
Byran Cox - NYJ

I think Garrett is probably heating up as a prospect again. I'm back on the JG bandwagon, so I'd like to see him stay as OC. But he probably sees the writing on the wall and has learned his lessons from the past: Wade will be back in 2010 (I think), and if you get an offer as HC when you're hot, you'd better take it before you cool down again.

Unless you have it in writing from Jerry that you are going to be the next head coach once Wade finally leaves. Even if Wade gets a 2 or 3 year extension, whats the rush if you are Garrett???

You already have complete carte blanch over the offense.

You already have complete control over personnel on the offensive side of the ball.

You already make head coach money at $3 mill per season.

You already have a franchise QB who is relatively still young.

You already have a homerun back.

You already have a young probowl WR

You already have a Hall of Fame TE.

You already have a billion dollar stadium to coach in.

Remind me again why Garrett would piss all this away to go coach a bunch of scrubs in artic-like conditions????

Just a thought...

I heard from Adam Shefter...that the Bills might be intrested in Jason Garett as coach..

Would you like the idea of Garett leaving or still prefer him to be our OC.

For one, I rather he leaves becuase a good OC can do ever a better job with our offense.. than Jason G has done... However the past weeks the team has excelled in offense...that is why this would be a hard decision

Thanks,

Great post, cant wait for the next one.

I dont want garrett or his brothers going anywhere.

THey are ours and I want them to stay right here.

Losing the garretts would be bad, for a season full of really good things it would be terrible if we lost them.

I am with you on 100% on that Theebs. I do not want them to go anywhere.
