If Turner comes I wonder what will become of Sparano, alot of chiefs if Turner, Garrett and Sparano are commanding the offense, I wonder where Tony would fit in if at all.

In theory Sparano could go back to spending most of his time with the O-Line and helping with the running game. In actuality, Norv coming in probably means that Sparano would be best served elsewhere.

Depending on how the franchise views the potential of someone like Sparano may be a determining factor in whether to hire an offensive coach of a defensive one. I suppose the same could be said about Bowles.

That's why I said that these candidates may not just be intervieing against Jason Garrett. They may be interviewed against Sparano and Bowles. If the franchise thinks very highly of those guys, I could forsee a situation where they decide to let Garrett be the head coach, and allow Sparano and Bowles to stay on in a greater capacity.

And obviously, some of this is going to depend on who the potential new head coach would bring with him as assistants.

I remember reading that several NFL people thought highly of Sparano's work with our O-Line earlier in the season. I think Pasquerelli had a mention about it in one of his Tip Sheets. We all saw enough games to know the line wasn't great, but it was solid at times. That might have been the best you could get with the talent here.

I actually think more of Sparano because of how many different people have spoken highly of him and wanted him though. Payton wanted him in New Orleans. The Chargers wanted him for an interview recently. Parcells thinks a lot of him. The players like his schemes and ideas too. And I thought the offense was better this year than it had been in a while. I don't know the guy, and it's not going to bother me too much no matter what happens, but I think he's a good coach. Given the choice, I would like to keep him.
I agree. I've heard on local radio that Sparano did a lot more behind the scenes for the offense than people realize, that the players respect him and feel he's a very good teacher, and that he was the one calling the plays most of the year.

I was critical of him for his o-line work last year, but now I think I was wrong about that. I thought he did great this year considering what he had to work with. We did finish fourth in the NFL in scoring with him as the de facto offensive coordinator.

I don't think Sparano is even a possibility. We weren't going to let both of our OC guys walk until someone was ready to take their places...Haley was the first allowed to interview because JJ wants T.O. back and knows Haley should leave for the good of the team.

Either Sparano stays and works with Jason Garrett, or he'll be allowed to walk soon as well.

The head coach will either be Phillips or Turner....While I prefer Norv, I'm guessing Phillips since he'll be ready to retire after 2-3 years in Dallas.

I would not be upset with Garrett as head hauncho, Sparano as OC and Bowles as DC.

for the record :puke:

our offensive gameplan against the Seahawks secondary is reason enough not to consider him.
